I originally was only going to register at Babies R Us but now think it might be better to have another option so I was thinking Amazon. How do you guys decide what to put on each one? For my wedding it was easy because there were specific things from Pottery Barn I wanted and the rest was Bed Bath and Beyond. Amazon is so much cheaper for most things babywise.
We did buy buy baby and babies r us for DS since there isn't a bbb near most of my family's houses. For this one we are just doing Amazon and keeping it private. We have prime and love the convenience of it. Amazon is the best for diapers.
I'm registering at Target and Amazon. I wanted to have some stuff to buy in person in case folks didn't want to shop online, so I did Target first and then I'm filling in the gaps on Amazon.

I'm planning doing both an in person store and amazon. I think many people like getting stuff in person, but amazon is more convenient for others. I'm thinking we will register at the store first and fill in with amazon.
On amazon I'll probably fill in a bunch of diapers and stuff that's cheaper in general and just use the discount if I can.
I did Amazon. I have Prime and plan to take advantage of the completion discount on stuff I don't get as gifts. I also like that you can add things from other stores if Amazon doesn't have it.
I ended up registering at Target, BRU, and Amazon. A lot of my family prefers to shop in person, and some are near BRU, but others are only close to Target. Amazon has a few key items that I want, so that's how I started that one. It's smaller though. The majority of things I put on my BRU and Target registries.
For ds I did target and Amazon. Target so people could buy in person. I like amazons because it's a universal registry and you can add things from other stores too. I added my pottery barn items and a couple etsy shop items I liked on there. You obviously don't get completion codes for the non Amazon items but still convenient to see everything you want in one place.

For my first I did BRU, Target, and Amazon. It gave people options and some stores had stuff that others didn't. This time I'm doing a private one on Amazon and that's it. It's more for DH and I to know what we need to get and also for the completion coupon/new baby box.

The welcome box or baby box or whatever it is is an amazon promotion. If you click that you've added everything on their "jumpstart" list (you don't have to actually add it), buy at least $10 of stuff off the registry, and maybe you have to have Prime too, they send you a box of samples. Contents vary. Mine had a full-size package of wipes (that was my favorite thing) and I don't really remember what else, but it wasn't too sparse.

Thanks for answering for me! I was in bed and now I'm attempting to get ready for work with no motivation.
For DS we did BRU for most of it. We also did buy buy baby because there were some specific things I wanted from there. We also did target because a family member works there and gets a discount.
This is my first baby so I'm having a shower. I registered at BRU and Amazon to accommodate the people who want to shop in person, and the people who like to shop online. I ended up removing some things from my BRU registry and putting them on the Amazon one because the items were substantially cheaper ($10 or more, anything less than that I just left alone). Some baby gear was $20-30 less on Amazon. One reason I chose BRU over Buy Buy Baby (which I love) was the BRU registry rewards program that gives you 5-10% cash back on everything purchased from your registry (in the form of a BRU gift certificate) after your due date. I got my nursery furniture from BRU, but put it on my registry first, so I've already earned $65.
We did an Amazon registry for DS and the only thing I'll add that I don't think has been mentioned is that items can be marked off of the Amazon list if people choose to buy them elsewhere. My aunt bought something on my registry from Target instead and just checked off that she had purchased it so I didn't get a dupe.
Thanks everyone. I'll just kind of pick and choose what registry I want to add stuff too. I like how bgkc4 used a price threshold. I'm also glad I added the travel system and car seat base to my registry before buying it, I didn't know that about the gift certificate.
Just make sure you sign up for the "Rewards R Us" program (their loyalty program) if you haven't already done so, because that's required too. It's 5% back for the first $300 in purchases (which gets you $15) and 10% back on all purchases after $300.
