To get some mental health help?
Seriously. I called in November to set up a consult for ADD/ADHD testing. I've thought I had it for years. Now, in the past few months, it comes to light that I'm the only one of my siblings that hasn't been formally diagnosed with it. 4 out of 5. I'm thinking I've got it.
I was told in November that the provider that did testing was not in my insurance network, but would be in a few weeks (she is relatively new). This was just after thanksgiving. Mid January I called back because I still hadn't heard anything. A long time co-worker who had switched to that department said she would look into it. A few days later she called and said that the doctor was now in network for me. So I called to make an appointment. By this point it's almost the end of January. Only to be told that the doctor I needed to see was not taking any new patients.
So I called another medical group. But they aren't taking any new patients at all. Of any kind, for any doctor. They are that full.
So I called back the first place and gave them what for about how I had been waiting for two months only to find out they wouldn't see me. They contacted the doctor and she agreed to take me on as a patient, but NOT UNTIL MAY! So six full months from when I first called.
I contacted my doctor about this, and she felt it was too long. First I was referred to a different department, then a different medical group completely. But they aren't in my insurance.
I tried to call a third medical group in the area but they don't do the testing that I need done.
I'm at seriously so frustrated I could scream. It shouldn't be this hard to get help!
