I had to remove my wedding rings this week and tonight my feet and ankles are swollen. It's annoying but I guess it means we are getting closer to meeting our babies! I googled it and it's normal to start around 22 weeks so I'm not worried.
Last time I had pre-e symptoms during the last week and ended up being induced at 40+3 because of it so my ob has me on baby aspirin now to hopefully prevent that this time. But it also makes me super aware of the swelling!!
sandandsea thanks for the reminder! I was about to answer that the swelling hadn't started for me quite yet, but then I tried to take off my rings. That hurt! I'm glad I got them off now.
Sorry for all the swelling going around. So far, none here.
I'm off to an early start this morning. Sitting at the shop while my car gets an oil change. Hopefully it doesn't take an obscenely long time. After that's done I'm packing up and the dog and I are going to visit my parents and grandma. And I get to meet my bff's baby today!!
Yep it's starting here too. First thing in the morning has been worse than usual lately. I don't remember when I stopped wearing my rings last time but....i feel like it's going to be sooner this time

No swelling on a daily basis here, but it's winter so that helps. My rings are actually loose. It was another story altogether when I was hiking in 80 degree temperatures a couple weeks ago. My hands always swell when I hike, but gosh - they were like balloons. It was freaky.
No swelling last time but I think I'm swelling a little this time. I have an awful cold and can't breathe out of my nose-making it twice as hard to get comfortable and get any sleep so I've only slept 3-4 hours the past few nights.
This morning we are taking DS to gymnastics class then going out to brunch together. Tonight we have a babysitter and are doing a birthday dinner at one of our friend's houses. 80 degrees and sunny-so it should be a great day!
Hi friends! Busy week over here! Trying to stay on top of things at work.
No swelling of my hands over here yet, but my ankles are definitely starting to suffer.
Quick update on me: My June baby is going to be a May baby. We scheduled my c section for 5/31. I was expecting to schedule it closer to 30-32 weeks, so when she sprung scheduling on me on Thursday I had a slight panic attack. Baby boy looked great at the appointment and my glucose levels that I tracked for all of the previous week got me off the hook from a GD dx. I have to track them again next month, but that's a huge relief for now.
I am in full nesting mode. Going to start painting his dresser & night table today. Painting the nursery next week. This kid is coming soon!!!!
Miss you guys! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

Did I miss why you have to deliver so early?
I think she means scheduling it and setting the date at 30 weeks. Not delivering?
Andrea that's so cool/soon you know his birthday!! You'll always be a June16 mom regardless! We want to see pics of the nursery when you're ready. Have a great weekend!
Well, MIL is coming for a visit today. Do I've already cleaned the house (still need to finish girls bedroom). Guess what DH did? He slept in! Jerk. I told him he gets to repay the favor. Plus the girls and I made her a birthday gift!
I'm actually glad to get the house tidied. I'm also in full nesting mode, though I know I don't have the time or energy to get all the projects done that I want. The girls room makeover is nearly completed, then I can move on to another project:)

LOL, yes not delivering at 30-32 weeks. At my appointment last month she said we would schedule the c-section date at 30-32 weeks. Baby will be born at 39 weeks.

My EDD got moved to May and I'll forever be a j16 mom
Confession: I kind of prefer May to add more variety to my future family ring. DD is Amethyst and I'm already June myself.....emerald would be a nice pop of colour added

Have any of you started kick counts yet? My OB said to start about 29-30 weeks as the baby still may be too small yet to feel everything, but at the perinatal dr on Thursday they gave me the info about doing them now. Just wondering what others have heard.

Also, I really want a cinnamon roll.
I don't remember doing kick counts last pg. I feel movement often now and DH has felt him now too. DS asks me every evening if his baby brother was kicking me all day because I made a comment to that effect one night.

At my last appt I was given a count card to fill in starting at week 28.
Long vent below, apologies in advance and I suggest reading this with a grain of salt as even I can tell I'm irrationally stressed right now and possibly a tad hormonal. DH is on my last nerve this week. Just so many little things adding up into a big thing. He tweaked his back at work and he's been bitching about it non-stop. I'm sure it is uncomfortable and I hope it isn't serious... But he will complain about it on and off for hours, but not actually do anything like, say, take an Advil, until I suggest it. He "forgot" to put the trash and recycling out this week, which is basically the only thing he's been reliably doing around the house lately. I put forgot in quotes because I repeatedly reminded him and got "I'll do it later" every time. Then last night I specifically asked him to feed the dogs this morning so I could sleep in a bit. He texted me after leaving for work that he couldn't feed them because they were out of food. No. They are out of dry food, the wet food which is right there next to it is also dog food. Like it says on the label. So it can be given to dogs. As food. He knows this because occasionally he is actually able to feed the dogs successfully. I could go on, but basically it all boils down to him being ridiculously helpless all the time and forcing me to micromanage every single aspect of our lives. I know I'm being somewhat unfair here, because I have a lot of stress about the house and nursery being ready and in good shape when June comes around. I feel at loose ends because I just want to get things DONE and it feels like every step forward with just getting some damn floors down has been two steps back. I'm getting angry and annoyed about it all, and right now I'm sending that in his direction. But that is just another thing... At no point has DH helped with any of that stuff. It wouldn't occur to him, it would automatically be "a Vivi thing". I'm just not sure how to go about changing that dynamic. Ok, vent over.
DH and I are about seven episodes into House of Cards. I'm thinking this is where we plan to stay for the rest of the day. At least I'm doing laundry and being a little productive.

The whole kick count thing stressed me out. I feel like I'm going to obsess about it all the time. I am afraid of missing something and not noticing a problem until it is too late.
vivela I'm sorry. That used to be my H & I can totally relate, he still acts like that on occasion but he has matured and got his act together a lot more over the last 2 years. A coworker gave me advice about dealing with husbands a long time ago, it sounds pretty low but I have to say there is truth here: you need to treat them like dogs and reward good behavior consistently. They don't really respond to or understand nagging/why you're micromanaging (not that you're nagging), but if they actually do something right tell them and show them how much it means to you consistently until they start to do it automatically without prompting.
DS had his first swim lesson this morning, it was in a word...awful. He wouldn't even put his fee in the pool. Even though it's meant to be a beginner class for kids who might be afraid of going in the water (4 kids to a teacher), all the other kids looked as if they were swimming pros. Finally a lone teacher took him in the water screaming and tried to get him comfortable just being in the water. I really could use a couple of mimosas right now.
Kick counts, I found it easier last time to just keep an eye on movement in general, like have I felt any movement this morning, this evening? It didn't really make much sense to me to count the number kicks.
vivela, I'm sorry you are having a frustrating experience with your DH. Mine does very well when I give him a list. It's hard to be the micro manager all the time.

Yes, I agree. They are stressing me out already, since this little one does not move on any sort of schedule.
I'm sorry to hear your hubby is giving you a hard time. I think a lot of people go through a freak out period before they have children, so hopefully this is all it is and he'll shape up soon.
