We are going to a baby shower today. I hear from the dad's grandma that this is one high class affair. They apparently spent over $30/head on food. Not sure whether grams was exaggerating but I'm looking forward to it.

I've never been to a baby shower with a per head meal (or however you refer to it). It's always been just snacks and finger foods. FX for some fancy cocktails!
And I already have to bring my car back to get checked out. Even though it's under warranty, I'm still crossing all the crossables that it's something minor.
You know, sometimes I turn into a (mostly) dirty lurker for awhile. But then I wake up on a Saturday and look forward to seeing what everyone's up to and I realize how much I love you guys! And then I feel like
I managed to get a decent deal on a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. Or at least it seemed like a good deal until the check engine light came on driving home from the dealer yesterday.
Considering it wasn't on when I test drove it and it didn't sound any different to me after that, I'm fairly optimistic about it for now.
I just googled pics of one; I love it! I would be optimistic too. But even if it's something big, at least you'll get a new one of whatever it is under warranty!

Today is my 4th day of work in a row. I work 12 hour days so it's killing me. I still have to work tomorrow, too. And C didn't sleep well AT ALL last night so I'm running on about 4 broken hours of sleep.
On a more positive note, DH and I have planned a day date next Monday. We're driving 3 hours to the closest ikea and getting lunch while we're out. I've never been, so I'm really excited!

I don't know if this is state specific or not, but I know here you have 3 business days to change your mind on buying a car. You can return it for a full refund and they can't refuse. Might be worth checking out, depending on what's wrong with it.
Cake of baby coming out of a vagina Games Whiskey door prizes Positive pregnancy text just chilling in the bathroom
Lowlights:
Held in a facility where you can smoke indoors wtf
We need to know more....lol
I can't wait to find out what you ate that was $30 a person
I'm pretty sure most of it was spent on the three tiered professional cake because the rest of the food was just typical stuff- fruit trays, sandwiches, wings, etc. Cash bar.

Ok, now that I've read the smoking comment, I have to know where you live! Around here, $30 a head for a shower is very typical, maybe even on the lower end. I've recently co hosted two different showers and the food (included beer, wine, champagne, mimosa bar only) were $32 and $38 pp. Yet another reason to move! But, at least all places of business are non smoking!

It was in Pennsylvania. I think it must have been an estimated cost including decorations and favors...or grandma was just wrong.

Gotcha. If gma is anything like my mom, I'm sure all sorts of details got messed up, ha!
I really need to learn to shut the door to DS's room when I am trying to put him to bed.
Otherwise MIL comes in and says super obvious statements followed by my name. Some examples: "He's wide awake, isn't he Jen?" "He didn't sleep well last night, did he Jen?" And so on. And then she hovers over us just staring at us for a bit. Sometimes I'm breastfeeding him too so it's super awkward.
I'm very much looking forward to her moving out. And I feel bad for venting/ranting so much about her on here lately.
LO just went down and didn't realize we didn't give him his paci! I'm hoping he doesn't realize it during the night, and then maybe they will all disappear tomorrow!
I have a feeling tonight is going to be rough. I had a slight fever earlier. And DS is refusing to nurse or take a bottle. So I think he's not feeling well either.
Is there a 19 month sleep regression? We've had 2 horrific nights in a row. And now she's getting a cold...
I feel like maybe there is! I tried to get DS to go to sleep for 50 min before switching out with DH. He's been in there for about 20 min with no luck. It's almost 10pm, and he's teething so I'm sure he'll wake up in the MOTN. I feel your pain!

I hope your night went ok! Surprisingly, C STTN. I'm so thankful. She was up for 4 hours motn the past 2 nights.
