My coworker's sister had a baby yesterday. It was SUPPOSED to be a girl....
This is scary to me. I've asked them to check every ultrasound I have, and I've had 3 techs confirm. I will lose my mind if this kid comes out a boy. I'm too emotionally connected at this point.

A friend of mine lent me her yoga ball so that I could bounce on it, but it's really too small and is hurting my knees. I wish I could find where my ball went!

You may or may not remember that there was uncertainty with DS (we thought he was a girl for several weeks)and with this baby they said they were "pretty sure" it's a girl. We have since had 2 other sonograms to confirm but I'm still gun shy! If something crazy happens, we have no name and we gave away all our boy clothes! The next 7 days cannot go fast enough!

I do! Crazy...
I've also been giving away and selling all my boy stuff! We would be so screwed :/

So thankful for spirit week this week. Today is "farmer/rancher day" so I chose to dress as a farmer going out to milk. Comfy pants, t-shirt, hair in a pony, and a bandana. Explaining to the kids (I teach in a fairly urban district) that you don't wear nice, cute things to milk cows in was a lightbulb moment for lots of them.
Also, I got to hand out the human growth and development class notification letters today. Going over the class outline with the kids is one of my favorite events of the school year. Because watching 7th graders' reactions to their (super pregnant) teacher saying things like penis, vagina, testicles, and masturbation is priceless. The shades of red they turn is truly astonishing and impressive.
I pushed myself to hard yesterday, I felt good. Did some housework, first day solo with 3 kids so took older 2 to school. Woke up this am with heavy bleeding and feeling weak. Trying to take it easy today but hate doing nothing especially while Em is sleeping.

I'm worried I'm going to have someone try to come to the hospital or over to the house with a cough or cold thinking they aren't that sick. I know I'm over analyzing everything, it just didn't help that I heard a couple people with coughs at a family lunch this past Sunday.

I have this fear too. It's something my mum would do to get to see the baby. Plus when dd1 was in the nicu there was a baby there that that night got diagnosed with the flu. A newborn, why? Because family came to visit him sick. Same family members came in the nicu. I was pissed because the only reason my dd was in the nicu was because she was transferred from another and they had to be sure she hadn't caught anything from the first so we were waiting for test results. So yes let's worry about her getting a baby sick, in my private room, but let people with the flu in the nicu.

oh wow that's terrible. Why wouldn't the baby's parents (at the point he/she was in nicu) say only the actual parents were allowed in nicu. Is that acceptable?? I just feel like people get so caught up in their own wants to see the baby. I feel like the main part I'll have to worry about are the days in the hospital because my immediate and extended family will come up. Then I also worry about my parents friends coming up because they've already said they are going to. We have said only immediate family the first day right after the birth.

DH is struggling so bad right now. DS caught a cold 2 days before my c/s and of course DH caught it the day we came home from the hospital. He hasn't held the baby in 2 days and it's killing him. He's being good though. It's so hard to have cooties and a newborn in the same house. Luckily DS doesn't really have a any interest in DD yet.

liked as commiseration. I'm sorry your DH hasn't been able to hold LO.
halfahippy I meant to ask you... Did they take your baby out head first or butt first? Do you know? Do you have to do the 1 month hip U/S?
Butt first. The doctor actually said "there's a cute little baby butt! And there's a cute little arm... Let's see her cute little face next." I haven't heard about an ultrasound yet. First appointment with our pedi is Friday. We just saw a rounding pediatrician at the hospital.
I got the RNP out of the box to set up. I can't even get the base pieces to fit into the X pieces. Is there some super secret trick I'm missing?
I'm also aimlessly wondering around my house because it's bad weather and I don't want to get out. Organizing things I've already organized.
We got ours today too. It is the freakin hardest thing to set up. H had to do it bc you really have to push hard to get it set up. You the groves on the base and the connector things have to line up too. I YouTubed a video but you have to push a lot harder than you think

Interesting... Ours says it on the discharge papers that they recommend our pedi does it when she is a month we also only saw the staff ped, her first appt is tomorrow. The discharge papers say it was a difficult extraction so maybe that's why. It's in my notes too. I am super hazy about what went on in the ER bc I was having such a bad reaction to the spinal. They apparently couldn't find a rag and had to wait to see me up until they found it and did like 4 counts to double check they had everything. I don't remember any of that though. H told me later.

The pedi we saw definitely took some extra time looking at and messing with her hips. He said so far they look good and were not dislocating but they will keep an extra close eye on them. Sounds like you had quite the OR experience! I'm glad things are ok in the end.
I'm in so much pain. I pulled a muscle (or something) from coughing so much. Now I can't even sleep. There is not a position I can lay in where I'm not either on the muscle or engaging the muscle. And now it hurts to breathe. It has seriously been one thing after another this whole pregnancy and I'm at my breaking point
