Today is national signing day so I've been glued to football websites/ESPN. I think it brings out my competitive streak or something. DH loves it and gets all his recruiting news from me. I was supposed to go to book club but haven't gotten around to reading the book so I skipped...plus it's raining and B's napping, and after our night last night, I'm not waking the kid up for anything short of the apocalypse.

kamakaziartist since soy and grains are off-limits, it's tricky. You can ask for a deconstructed roll with no rice and they will bring the fish, avocado, and all other Whole 30 friendly parts of your roll. You can also order sashimi or nori with no rice. I would do tuna tartare if it's on the menu. They usually have a steamed veggie side. Also, you can have a salad and dress it in lemon or olive oil. Since soy sauce is out, I bring my own coconut aminos which tastes similar and can be purchased at a health food store. It can totally still be delicious and whole 30-compliant!

We heard back from the bank this morning- the appraisal came in quite a lot higher than we needed it to!! The underwriters at the bank are drawing up the construction loan now and will hopefully have it to us by the end of the week, so sometime next week the builder should have a crew at our land starting on the house!!! We are beyond excited! This dream has been a long time coming and we have worked and saved really hard for it, and are thrilled to see it actually becoming a reality! Yesterday DH and I picked out fireplaces, garage doors, and shingles for our roof. Friday we go to pick out windows, doors, and probably some other stuff too. So fun!!! We are trying to get as many things as possible picked out now before DH's surgery so that we don't hold up the progress. Today I am supposed to be doing some research and putting together a lecture and doing a few other things for work, grocery shopping, and cooking dinner, but instead I am completely distracted and giddy over the appraisal. Productivity for today isn't looking good right now.

Today's deep thought: Why is it that Bradley will demand a bite of whatever I'm eating and come back for more, but when I serve him the exact same thing in his highchair, he's not interested?
Better late than never... I hadn't logged in for a few days, but when I saw on my FB this morning what they are referring to losses now, well that was that.
ggandlee don't worry all the vax threads here are totally pro-vax. And congrats on the ground breaking!
Thanks for the reassurance! I figured everyone here was smart enough to vaccinate their children. I will spare myself the anxiety and stress and just not even go there on those threads.
Well, it's official. Mara passed her cold on to me. Should I be concerned that when I ate some spicy soup that I could feel it burning not only in my throat but in one of my ears, too?

Someone (FIL) thought it was wise to give MJ (English bulldog) ppl food. Not cool FIL, not cool.... Poor girl has the nastiest farts/diarrhea. Never give an English bulldog people food EVER. He knows this. Ugh
I get the argument behind choosing not to circ and it's something I considered although ultimately we decided to do it. It's not analogous to choosing not to vax, like at all. Whether or not I circ my boy has no potential impact on public health. So she's either too stupid to understand that, or she is a venomous bitch that just wanted to throw one of your parenting decisions in your face for the hell of it.
@lizinfl if you figure out the answer to that let me know. V does the exact same thing. And she signs "all done" and then pushes food off her tray, but the minute I get her out of her high chair she reaches for the food and eats it. So frustrating!!
MH told me yesterday that we need to start teaching Mara to say please and thank you. Ummm, I can't get her to say ball or hi, but I'll go ahead and get started on that right away.
trtlcrzy he snuck a sip of mine before I could usher him away. I wouldn't offer it to him; I would guess it's not great for his system. Cats have very sensitive kidneys and I'm not sure what tons of water soluble vitamins would do to him.
JoeLies what a long day interviewing. How was Tempe? Could you see your family there if it works out?
Hope all the sick babies and mommies are better. I'm better today and I have the afternoon off because I have to go back to school for parent conferences tonight. I'm hoping the rest of my family doesn't get what I had because I have a girls night Friday and a date night with 5 other couples Saturday that I'm really looking forward to.
I noticed a couple of hdbd pictures with LOs playing with play doh. Is it regular play doh? How do you keep them from eating it?
I just asked the same thing in the HDBD thread. No possible way my dude would not try to make a meal out of that stuff.
Cadence tried to eat raw garlic last night. She instantly regretted it, but within 10 seconds forgot and tried it again. I have no doubt she would eat the play doh.
