belle0720, I'll second the lovey idea from michyme123. Additionally though, what we've found really helped us is to try and separate that last feeding from bedtime to help break the whole "eat to sleep" association. So now we do bottle, story, bath, lotion, pajamas, song, crib - there's probably a good 20 minute gap or so between that bottle and hitting the crib. Since we did that we went from 3-4 wakings to 1-2 on a (fairly) consistent basis.
sabrinaml I'm with you and wanting a change in hair color. I haven't colored my hair in years, but I'm going to be making an appointment soon! And very sorry about your cousin
@jemomma how terrifying! Thank goodness she is ok!
O has been sick for several days, and last night after her bedtime bottle my H gave her a dose of Motrin while I was holding her. She got choked up on it and started coughing so hard and vomited her entire bottle up all over she and I. It just kept coming out! I was on the verge of tears, and my H runs over and says "Oh shit! That's going to fuck up our floors!" Seriously, H, our poor sick baby just threw up everywhere and you're worried about the floors?! I laughed about it later, but was really annoyed in the moment.
Sorry for all the sick babies! LOs cold is still hanging on, every time I think it's better he gets all snotty again. Ugh hopefully he feels better for pictures.
Wahoo beersandweirs , that's awesome! Were you the 100th caller? Did you play a game? Tell us how you won it. Is it a national or local station?
I was the 10th caller on a local station. They do the contest like twice a day, which is nuts, because that is a lot of free computers! I didn't have to play a game or anything. I have tried calling in a couple of other times, but obviously never made it through.
Rant: DH wants us to go over to his parents' house on Friday night to help them with their taxes. Saturday morning is when we are supposed to leave to visit my parents a few hours away for the weekend. Therefore, Friday night was when I was planning on packing.
Why do his parents feel the need to dominate our time immediately before we are supposed to do something with my family? Clearly the taxes aren't an emergency; it's not even April yet. They know what our weekend plans are because we already declined an invite to do something with them on Sunday. This kind of shit happens all the time.
DH says and you are probably thinking too, oh you can start packing today. I will try, I am just not confident that I will be able to get much done. I already run around the house frantically doing anything and everything that needs to get done from the time I get home from work to the time I go to bed, while DH relaxes. So we'll see.
Widget123 even if you do get the packing done, I would not want to spend the night out on Friday before being away for the weekend, unless absolutely necessary. Has DH already told them you guys would help? Also, why can't DH go over solo and help them, why do you have to go?
Someone has to watch the kids and MIL is not good at juggling two of them at once. If I am watching the kids at home by myself my ability to pack will be very limited. Example, if DD sees me folding something and putting it in a suitcase, her immediate reaction will be to want to take it out. LO will probably want me to hold him the entire time because he gets clingy when I get home from work.
As upset as I am, I am afraid to rock the boat too much with this. Inevitably almost every time before we are supposed to go visit my family DH picks a fight with me about something and then tries to use it as an excuse of why we shouldn't go. Christmas was the most recent time this happened and I have zero desire to relive that kind of drama again.
My h took LO to Gymboree today and then wound up eating with some of the moms accidentally at Panera later. Lol he was so happy to describe having "friends" for LO!
My random - Has anyone ever done the Cize exercise program? I am thinking about doing it, but also don't want to spend $$ on it if I'm not going to like it much. Are there any other dance exercise programs that people like that are free, on YouTube maybe? Cize looks really fun, but I want to see if I can find something else like it for less money.
ETA What about Zumba? Anyone done both? Similar? Is one better/more fun than the other?
junch817 I used to do Zumba regularly, lots of fun! Then I started trying out UJAM which is sort of like Zumba, but more hip/hop music which was a better fit for me. Last I checked they didn't have much on Youtube though
You guys...I am sitting crisscross applesauce and Jude was sitting in my lap playing with a toy. And then he stood up. Without pushing off of anything! I'm freaking out. I don't want my baby to grow up!!
Ok reading on my prep and was interested in MLM..... Google tells me it multilevel marketing..... Does that mean that like Beachbody trainers work like Avon or something? Is it a pyramid system? Where a trainer makes more money if they have trainers under them and a ton of clients?
Yes, Beachbody is a MLM. They not only want people to sign up for shakeology, they want you to sign up to be a "coach" like them. junch817, Cize is a Beachbody product. I've heard their workouts are great, but I feel so squicky supporting them.
