I love how I started this thread and I'm not sure what to say.
I had to get on an earlier train today because a rail is broken on my line. I woke at 545 & was out of the house by 6. I mean I'm fast in the morning, but that was ridiculous! Since having J it is rare if I take a shower two days in a row, so thankfully I showered yesterday afternoon. I didn't get to make my coffee, but I'm going to stop for some at Dunkin so no biggie.
It's going to be so nice today and I'm teaching. At least I'll get out for recess? I'm teaching first, second, or fifth grade. Here's hoping it's fifth!
LO has really discovered her tongue. It's really funny to watch her roll it, stick it out, etc.
I don't know how I'm going to function today...so tired. I need to get up and get in the shower, but that's even more effort than I'm willing to exert today.
I'm relieved that Wednesday is half over already! Last night was so bad that today is about caffeine and not actually dropping the baby. I did get us out to her favourite music class this morning, which felt like an achievement in the circumstances.
carrots, so sorry your boy is still ill! Hope the doctor has some answers for you.
carolyngrace's red hair was the final push I needed to get some colour in my hair last night. I lightened it a bunch and got some dark plum lowlights, what do you think purple??
Poof
ETA: carrots hope your LO is better soon, that is a long stretch especially for stomach!
carrots, sorry poor W is still sick, hopefully a trip to the ped will bring answers and get him on the mend! budders, sorry you're still not feeling well, too. Hope a more relaxing day today helps you feel better! As for us, last night was our turn on the sick baby wagon. Yesterday DS had a cough and wasn't eating super awesome. Last night he developed a fever and lost the ability to sleep right before I wanted to go to bed. We wound up giving him some Motrin, and I was finally able to settle him back into his crib at about 2 a.m. Mercifully, I got to sleep after that until my alarm at 6. Fever is gone this morning, and while he was still coughing, he seems to be happy, so after a lot of hemming and hawing, off to day care he went. Hoping I can get out a little early again today to pick him up.

Picking up a baby gate today from somewhere since all A wants to do is crawl out the door into the sunroom which involves a couple of steps. A coworker told me Sams had carters outfits on sale for $5 so I guess we'll check those out too and then I've got to find something to wear in a couple of A's spring pics this weekend. But, I'll get to that later because I'm currently snuggling a sleepy baby
I hope the pediatrician can give you some answers and your LO feels better soon carrots; that stomach bug only stuck around for a couple a days in our house, but we had friends that got it a second time soon after they had all gotten well.

You guys, what are we going to talk about when summer rolls around and our babies aren't sick all the time?
We kept BH home yesterday. He was running a low-grade fever, which is his DCP doesn't care about, but he was also acting pretty miserable all day. Better night last night, so I was hoping that he'd be good to go today, but he woke up scream/crying 15 minutes after I left his room this morning after his 3:30 feeding, so we'll see.
I am so sorry there seem to be so many sick babies again. I hope they feel better soon. I am really hoping this cold I have buggers off soon, parenting is hard when you feel like your head is going to explode. B slept like crap last night and refused to go in her crib so I got next to no sleep. Today is crop insurance and land rental decision day. I really don't have much to do with it so B and I will just be hanging out. I can't wait for Saturday! We are heading to the city for a Rush game (lacrosse) and an overnight at a hotel. I have never seen lacrosse so I'm hoping it's a good time.
carrots, hope W feels better soon! budders, sorry to see you're still not feeling well. purple, hope your afternoon gets better and you get some sleep tonight! jillywilly, hope he feels better soon. All you ladies adding color to your hair makes me want to change mine. Hmm maybe I should see if I can get an appointment to add some highlights. My stylist talks me out of reds anytime I ask because they fade so quickly. I've been MIA the last few days. We got a phone call late Friday night that my cousin (he was only 43) passed away. His poor girlfriend found him Friday morning. It's a huge shock and I'm trying to be there for my mom. Her sister (cousins mom) passed away 2 years ago next month, her brother passed away 1 year ago this past December and now her nephew- who aside from his kids, was moms last remaining relative on her side. My cousins kids all arrived yesterday (only 1 still lives in the state) and we're just playing the waiting game for arrangements. Today's plans include working from home and maybe a run to SAMs club. C and I have been getting some good walks in with the warmer weather, hopefully it clears up so we can go this afternoon. Then dinner with my mom tonight.
tiffbot I love it!! So cute. Did you do it yourself?
Thanks everyome! No, I wish I could be so talented but I leave anything hair up to the professionals! Someone I know recently opened a salon in town and she's amazing and so decently priced, it's so nice having her close by! She actually did my hair for my wedding but we've always been in different places so she didn't start regularily doing it until recently!
Also, I seem to have started my period. I'm not sure how or why since I'm on Depo, but I think this ties into my gastrointestinal issues I've been having. Because of the endometriosis, I have always been very ill prior to and during the first two days of my period, although this pattern has been a little different. I'm hoping that's all it is and that neither are signs of anything more serious, especially since the gastrointestinal issues are not going away.
I haven't had a PP period yet. My SIL (her youngest is 16 mo) has had a lot of issues prior to all of her periods. She had migraines one month, stomach issues the next, crazy breakouts another. She went to the doctor because she wasn't sure what was going on. They told her it was her hormones starting to get back on track. I'm not sure if your endometriosis would affect that as well. Hopefully it's a fluke and it won't happen again. Teaching like that is not fun.
But, enjoy your day of observations. Hopefully you are getting some easier students next year?
carrots I hope W gets better soon!!! budders sucks AF came but hopefully you'll feel better now! tiffbot I LOVE those lowlights!!
We are getting ready to head to the pool! It's a little chilly but the pool is heated and hopefully the sun starts to get hotter! We might rent some bikes today too! I got to see my brother for dinner last night, so I'm super happy about that! I missed him! Also one of my BFFs lives here so I'll get to see her too(even if it's only at the wedding)!
tiffbot I've heard it's a great time! We got a suite for a surprise party so I am pretty excited!
Awesome!!! Have fun!
We are actually also n the city Saturday! We are taking the kids into a spring dance and invited my MIL along and she wanted to make a fun weekend out of it so booked us hotel rooms too! Too funny! We rarely stay in hotels in this city either because we either have friends we stay with or just go home since it's not a bad drive.

budders, sorry for the rough night, when I read your sleep posts, I swear we have the same baby. O is doing the same thing, wanting to be held all night and not settling at all. I'm starting to lose my patience at this point...I'm just so tired. H has been on a stretch of nights which doesn't help. I'm glad you have a somewhat easier day today. I'm volunteering for DD1's class field trip to the symphony today. Let's hope its a high energy performance and I don't fall asleep!

Also, if any Canadian moms are using Similac, I have some coupons and cheques here I'd be willing to send. We are using enfamil. tiffbot your hair looks awesome! Love love the plum!
So C had some tiny little blood spots on her hands last night after she had been sucking on them. It's got to be teething, right? With the blood spots on her book, and now on her hands, that's all I can think of.
I looked, and I see NO teeth yet, but that's got to be what this is, right?
I feel like I should be more concerned about unexplained sources of blood on my child, but teething is the only thing that makes sense. Or, do I need to take her to her ped?

Thanks!
And I am, if you don't mind sending or someone else hasn't already PMd you. I actually just added formula to the list today thinking if I do one more bulk trip it will get her to her birthday, ah!
mrsdee1982 , W has been pulling at his ears (I think bc of teething) and he keeps scratching himself so he ends up with scabs in his ears and random blood spots on clothes from it. It took me a while to figure it out but I was also not too worried since he seemed fine. Babies are weird.
The blood is for sure coming from inside of her mouth, but I have looked the best she will allow me to, and I see no teeth coming through and no cuts.
tiffbot That's too funny, and a weird coincidence! We never stay in hotels either but it's going to be a late night and my husband will probably drink with his buddies so I don't want to drive the crappy highway with B that late. A little mini vacation!
My kid throws tantrums while on his belly and it's pretty much the funniest thing ever. He tries to throw himself backward like he does ALL THE TIME, but he obviously can't and it's hysterical watching him try.
Morning ladies! After an initial 10 minute crying bout last night G slept better than she has in quite a while and only woke up twice! (It's been more like 3-4 times recently)
Any advice on ways to teach her to self soothe? I know she wasn't hungry because she had nursed, ate dinner, then nursed again. We bathed her and then she fell asleep for a little bit and woke up cranky and turned into crying when I didn't give her my boob. I just don't want her to always need the boob to calm down. H had to be the one to calm her down and get her back to sleep because once he handed her to me she started clawing at my chest and getting upset again.
