We've started discussing adding a baby to our family through adoption with our almost three year old (in three year old vernacular of course), and lately he's become very interested in babies--especially since Doc McStuffins is getting a baby brother or sister through adoption. Tonight he told me he wanted to name the baby Rocket Parking Lot.
Did any of your older kids suggest crazy names for a sibling? Let's hear them.

My older brother wanted to give me his name and pick a new one for him.
My mother almost named me something that would have been an anagram of his name, so he almost got to give me his name.
My suggestion for my younger sibling was Luna. It was the name of my imaginary friend at the time. He turned out to be a boy, so it's doubtful my parents would have used my suggestion anyway.

My 3yo was pushing the name Sandra for a while. I think she heard it on YouTube but I'd cracked up every time and imagine birthing a middle aged secretary. Her second choice was Princess.

I was a child of the 80's when computers were coming out and making their way to school libraries. So my imaginary twin's name was Macintosh. LOL
Nothing to contribute because DD was still too young to understand at the time. But, I am very curious to watch a few episodes about Doc McStuffin's soon to be adopted baby sibling, especially after how weird I thought the pet vet episodes were. I think they start today, yes?

There has been one where they talk about the new baby, and Doc gets a baby toy to practice caring for. It's cute.
My daughter thinks that Calcium is the most beautiful name in the world. With the exception of Princess Akitten and Kitten Cat, all the toys she has named are named Calcium.

DS was mad that we aren't giving both babies his name and I told him they needed their own girl names. And now he likes Finn more than Evie because "Finn is a shark" and calls them both Finn.
DS recommended Kevin early on during my pregnancy, which I remember thinking wasn't a bad choice from a 3yo. Then he recommended Harry and Marv because he's currently obsessed with Home Alone. I jokingly refer to this kid as Baby Marv!
He's also recommended Dinosaur, Nothing, and Batman, but his most recent suggestion (Simon) actually made our top 3 list, so we'll see!
My niece wanted to name her new brother Plain Chips. I don't think we'll get any suggestions from DS, as he is only 2.5, but I really hope he does come up with something funny.
This reminds me of how french fries are sold at the Fish & Chippers here. You have to order at least a "minimum chips." One of the local breweries called their standard, always available ale Minimum Chips.
Given how random words are being suggested as names, Plain or Minimum Chips is just as possible as anything else.

A little girl's mom at the daycare I work in is pregnant. I asked the little girl what she wanted to name the baby and she said Hazel. I asked her what if it was a boy and she just shook her head. I've asked several times and she just will not accept that the baby might be a boy!
My students suggested TV, Sparkle, and Snowflake. My youngest really wanted Blaze for his new brother to be.
A co-worker's grandchildren are:
Brees (girl) Blaze (boy)
and a couple more horrid B names I cannot exactly remember now. The mother has a different letter for each father. In total the mother has 8 kids -- 2 A's with one father, 4 B's with my co-worker's son, and 2 C's with a third man. I'm not sure she's finished. I keep waiting for news of a D child.

When my sister asked my 3yo nephew what kind of baby cousin he was getting (ie boy or girl), he said, "It's a walrus!" I referred to this baby as baby walrus for several weeks after that. He hasn't given me any name suggestions, but I imagine they would be awesome names (at least for a walrus).
