@wineonice if it helps, a friend of DD's dad has been doing cross fit for maybe 2 months and he literally appears to be melting. Keep us posted on how it goes!
Still here. I'm focusing now on eating less food, healthier. I've been focusing primarily on exercising, which has resulted in zero pounds lost. If I want to loose weight, I need to eat less food.
I did 30 minutes on the treadmill today. Started at 5mph; 0.5 incline then increased 0.2mph every 5 minutes. Then the last 5 minutes I increased 0.1mph every minute so I got up to 6.4mph! Woot woot. I was just channeling my inner catspajamas. No but really, I almost didn't push on the last 5 minutes then I was like no why don't you follow your own advice? I think the next time I do a run like this on the TM I will start between 5.2mph and 5.4mph.
Hey ladies! I'm getting back at it too. We meal prepped yesterday and I'm going back to not drinking during the week. I really derailed the past two weeks, I'm just glad the scale isn't as bad as it could have been. I haven't been able to make it to body pump the past 3 weeks but I will finally be able to go on Friday. DD has swim classes this week in the evening which makes it hard to workout but I'm going to get up early tomorrow for a run. You've motivated me catspajamas.

Well I fell off the map for 5 days with family in town. I didn't think I made all that horrible of choices but I guess I did because the scale was up 4.2 pounds. I am confident I can get it back off pretty quickly, but it doesn't help that it is so discouraging when you work SO hard and so long to get it off and a few glasses of wine can pack it all back on without fail in such a short time period.
If you go to a really good box, @wineonice they will help you modify when needed and not push you to the point of injury. If you don't feel safe, always decline or ask for a modification. Feel free to ask about credentials/background if unsure.
Remember: They had to start somewhere too. Please just try not to become one of those obsessed people that only ever talk about crossfit as if it's the ONLY way to work out?
Can I join you ladies here? I really need some accountability.
I have put on about 10 pounds this summer from eating my feelings. I started back on my protein shakes today for breakfast and lunch and I am going to make tilapia and sweet potato fries for dinner. I gonna need to be down all 10 pounds by Saturday, lol. I have a date with my H that is about a year overdue and I want to look good since he mostly sees me looking terrible everyday. Bless the man for still finding me attractive somehow! Now I just need to find the motivation to get back to the gym. I do miss going.
I'm gonna pile on summerrain to also throw it out there that the faster you lose any amount of weight, the faster and easier it is to gain it back (and more). Please don't do anything unhealthy to yourself that makes long term success less of a reality.
You will look hot no matter what the stupid scale says to you! Enjoy yourself and I hope you get some sexy time on your date!
lolo918, the only reason I picked Crossfit is bc it's next to Sbux. Lol
I could have been any type of class and I would have joined.
FFMC, I do not like exercise at all. I have a non-serious medical issue and the side effect is I do not sweat very much, so overheat easily, and never feel good after a workout. But, I have to get moving, so I see no alternative.
Sounds legit! Caffeine can be an ergogenic aid to some, so that's a justification right?!? (It sucks I'm a non responder though.)
Be sure to bring plenty of cold/cool water and drink it. Pouring some cold water on your head if you get to feeling bad can also help prevent overheating. Do you wear as few clothes as possible/start workouts feeling cool, wear sweat wicking clothing that tends to breathe, or have you tried using a cooling towel to help?
lolo918, I actually wear long sleeves, but breathable.
My doc mentioned it might keep me cooler, but he could be very wrong bc it's miserable.
If it's miserable in long sleeves it can't hurt to try short sleeves or tank tops since it was a might help but not a need this to help keep cool thing. It's really up to you and how comfortable you feel doing that.
I hate long sleeves at any temp over maybe 40 degrees Fahrenheit BUT I judge temperature and some intensity by how fast I sweat lol. Less than 10 minutes to sweating equals hot, humid, and/or hard workout conditions. Greater than 10 minutes equals easy, cold, and/or dry workout conditions. I wish I could send some of my tons of sweat to you so that I looked a tiny bit more cute in the gym.
No, no. Just a dream. I will be happy if I lose 2 before Saturday, although I am hoping 4-5 since I seemed to have packed on the water weight during my latest miscarriage last week. Then I'll be lucky if the scale moves .5 pounds a week. I can pack weight on like a champ, but my body really makes me try hard to lose anything. I have to start somewhere though 😬.
Full disclosure though, I have had some eating problems in the past due to the high pressure dance world so I definitely have to keep myself in check. Thanks for all the concern. I am not at a healthy weight right now, but I know my body has been through a lot this summer so I'm trying to not put too too much pressure on myself right now. It's hard though.

I would think if it's the sweat wicking materials that it would make it harder for you to cool down if you don't sweat. I'm not a doctor though. I don't see anything wrong with trying a short sleeve or sleeveless option to see if it helps.

I just took a walk to escape my family and reach my fb step goal. When I got home, DH had DS in the bath. I'm trying to be quiet as a mouse so they don't realize I'm here and I don't end up getting sucked into doing bedtime.
I would like to jump in here. I signed up for weight watchers today, I was very successful with it before (pre baby) and I am hoping it will help me out now.
I am really feeling like 14 months post baby I should be in a better place physically.
