Yesterday was a rough day, but DD slept so well last night that I feel somewhat human this morning! H is working until noon and the house chores are mostly caught up, so I am intending to have a very lazy morning!!

I got to sleep in!! It's only 730, but I'll take it!! I can smell waffles cooking downstairs. Not a bad start to the weekend!!!
My sister and her bf are coming up this weekend. We haven't seen them since Christmas, so that'll be nice. Then Monday DH and I are leaving C with my mom and driving 3 hours to ikea! I'm so excited for a date day!!
Yay for the good starts to the days! It's only 6:30 here but I'm still laying in bed. I'm hoping the sound of the rain will lull me back to sleep. I love rainy, lazy days!
Having friends over last minute for dinner tonight. The husband is gluten free so trying to decide what to make! Luckily they are bringing dessert, baking gluten free is the hardest for me
ETA: anyone have a super tasty gluten free friendly chicken recipe?
My H and I do this a lot. It's pretty simple but very tasty. We bake chicken in the oven until it's almost done, then top with salsa and shredded cheddar cheese and bake until it's done. It's super yummy! And would be gluten free-friendly.

And my check engine light is back on. Still the speed sensor according to Autozone. Fuck.
So I guess I'll be dropping it back off when DH gets home from work and learning more about my state's lemon law in case they still can't get it fixed.
DS has been miserable for 3 days. I took him to the ped Thursday and she said it looked like a virus so we'd just have to wait it out, but if he still had a fever to bring him back Monday. Well, everytime his medicine wears off his fever comes right back. Obviously it's not Monday yet, but is that normal to go on for 3 days? Yesterday at nap time he was hysterical for the better part of 3 hours. He would fall asleep briefly then wake back up crying. Last night his fever was about 103. He had been eating and drinking ok until yesterday afternoon. I thought he had drank a decent amount of water this morning, but he hadn't even peed enough to turn his diaper line blue by naptime (4 hours).
Idk, maybe this is just how colds/viruses are?? He's never been like this before. I know his throat hurts because he's continuously mouth breathing and he doesn't have much of a voice. I think he's also got sinus pain/pressure from how he keeps reaching and under his eyes (to the sides) are puffy. He's so tired but been fighting his nap for 45 minutes again. Hope it doesn't turn into a repeat of yesterday. Luckily his O2 has stayed decent! Can't imagine trying to get him to wear his cannula with this runny nose.
TL;DR is it normal for fever with a cold/virus to go on for 3 days getting as high as 103? It does come down with medicine.

Yep, unfortunately. As long as the fever responds to medicine and they can drink, there isn't much else to do. My oldest had it last week Thursday to Sunday. DD2 got it night before last. I've even had to use both Tylenol and Advil (alternating every 2 hours) to keep them comfortable at times.

He can actually still wear the cannula with the runny nose. He will still get O2 if he is mouth breathing. I'm glad that you don't have the added struggles of oxygenation with his fever. Sounds like he's being a trooper though.

Poor kiddo But yes, it's perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. We went through that a few weeks ago. It sucks but ours only lasted about 4 days before the fever broke and he started improving. FX he starts feeling better soon.

Yeah I know he could, it would just be a new kind of hell. He doesn't exactly like to wear it even on a good day haha
Thanks ladies! I basically know nothing about kids (except my own) so i just keep thinking "I don't get a high fever with colds. My fevers don't last for days unless it's something really bad." I know kids illnesses are different, I just didn't know how different. Good to know this is normal!! It's usually not with him so I'll take it!
Hi! It feels like Sunday today! I think thats down to the impromptu Grandparents visiting/sleeping over yesterday. My brother finally got a job with an airline so we had to celebrate. I'm so happy for him. My mum is pretty happy too because now she can hopefully get her house on the market and move nearer to me,well once my brother has moved out. I'm a touch bummed with my work because I made a mistake earlier in the week and just feel awful about it. I'll get over it but right now I keep going over and over it.
Guise, I just watched Spy with Melissa McCarthy and it was awesome. The preview definitely undersold it. If you haven't seen it, go watch!
I love her. I don't think I've heard of this movie, but DH and I just said we wanted to watch a good movie tomorrow night. Thanks!
I hadn't heard of it either, but it's free on HBO demand. I watched the preview they had and chuckled but was like "eh." We decided to watch it anyways and I laughed the whole time.
How are computers so smart?? I search for something on Amazin under my H's account. Computer is registered to a different email address than my Facebook account is. But ads for that product pop up on Facebook on my phone. So smart.
Not to mention, there's been 3 seperate times I've bought something at the grocery store (paid with credit card) then come home to find an ad for it on Facebook either that day or the next. Random stuff- Cracker Barrel brand cheese, special K breakfast sandwich. Freaky

Over the last week or two we have been gradually adjusting DD's bedtime to account for DST. Just now, at 1 AM (2 AM??) Sunday morning, I realized that we adjusted the wrong way. FML hahaha!

Oh no, hope she went with it okay. Lol... I was backwards in my thinking, too, but I wasn't being proactive like you were.
