I started yesterday's random thread and bailed. Just caught up.
I have a friends' baby shower this afternoon, but bummed it's a far drive. And co Ed but DH doesn't want to go. Also during DDs nap time, so I don't think she'll come with. Which I'm sad about because I love taking her places and having reasons to dress her extra cute.
We're ACTUALLY buying paint tomorrow. I have just over 24 hours to actually choose the colours now...
Hey friends, I have been up since 6:30 with reflux and threw up in my kitchen sink #winningsaturday
Our painters are here to paint coffee bean's room, I am sooooo excited to see the finished product!!!!
Oh no! I hope the reflux settles!
Hooray about painters!!
And I LOOOOOOOVE the nickname coffee bean
Zantac is not cutting it any more. I am Colombian, and this baby will be halfsies so it is only fitting
Have you narrowed down paint colors? I changed my mind like 67 times. I was texting the painter at like 9:30 on Thursday night with a new paint color. Poor guy, thankfully he knows me and waits till last minute to buy my paint.
I'm driving to Oklahoma for my girls weekend with friends soon! I was looking forward to meeting my niece, but since I have a cold, they asked that I not come, so I will be meeting her in a month or so. I'm sad to not meet her in that my cold never ended up going away, but I understand!
It's so silly because I'm always wanting some time away from DS now that I'm a stay at home mom, but I'm actually pretty sad to leave him this weekend! None of my college friends have kids, so it's just so different. I know they will want to go out to bars and stuff tonight, and it's hard tagging along while 28 weeks pregnant with a two-year-old at home! Hopefully it will be a fun time though!
Hoping to stop through my college town on the way home and buy some baby girl stuff at my alma mater!
txmommy14, Hope you have a great time with your friends!!! I am sorry you aren't able to meet your baby niece, I bet that was hard to heard (even though it makes perfect sense).

Yes, I'm the one who suggested I meet her another time actually, and my SIL seemed relieved because she was going to ask me not to come! I had DS out and about and in public days after he was Born, but I always try to be aware and respectful about the fact that not everyone feels the same way!
Are there any second time moms taking any baby classes this time around? I kind of want to take a class as a refresher and for the hospital tour, but I also feel silly going to one!

So sorry that you've gotten sick Andrea! Yay about the painters though!
Have fun at the girls weekend txmommy14! I often feel really exhausted from DS, but have a hard time being away from him, so I know exactly what you mean.

I want to take an infant/child CPR class with DH, but haven't registered for anything yet. I am both ACLS and PALS certified, but I just think that this is an area where you can't be over prepared. I'm also planning on taking a hospital tour since I will be at a different hospital.
We had decided to go visit SIL for the day, but I woke up to texts that nephew had been vomiting all night. So now our day is free:) DH is going off to do some work, and the girls and I will run some errands.
I am headed to urgent care again. This cough is obnoxious. It is keeping me from sleeping and making my head and body hurt. Hopefully they can give me something to make it stop. I hate taking meds anytime and I especially hate it during pregnancy but I need something better than Robetussin and the inhaler they have me Thursday.
After that we are buying DS new shoes and then Home Depot to price out fencing. This kid needs a yard to run around in. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I'm taking a CPR class through work at the end of the month. It doesn't normally include infants, but my coworker who is running it added it for me (without me even asking, so nice!)
I have to go get two more paint sample cans. I have a color I love, but I feel like it will be too much in the room. So my mom explained you can ask for half-strength or three-quarter, and they just cut it with white, which I think will fix it.
A question that txmommy14 reminded me of, is anyone asking their friends and relatives to get the tdap? I was reading an article about babies and whooping cough that suggested that. It seems a little invasive, but I guess I would ask my immediate family because I know they wouldn't mind at all.
Second question, how worried should I be about being on my back? I'm following the rules of sleeping on my side, but I really hurts my hips. So before I go to sleep, I relax on my back for awhile to read and such. Is that a bad idea? It is usually around 45 minutes or so.
I asked my family the first time around to get the Tdap and they obliged.
I have a sprinkle for a friend this afternoon. I am feeling more human now. Which is awesome. I need to catch up on studying as this week was a recovery week.
My husband gets it obviously, and my mom, who will stay with us the first week or two to help, always gets it before the birth of a new grandchild. She is really good about it and I don't even have to ask her!
I dropped DH and his friend off at their favorite Irish bar. It's parade day where I live, and it's a big deal. I'm going to both women's and men's lacrosse games this afternoon for our university here. I tutor players from each team. It's so nice out today.

I will have DH, MIL, FIL, my dad and his wife get the tdap. Last time I also made sure they got the flu shot because DS was born in October. They all had no problem with it and everyone but DH gets they flu shot ever year anyways. The nurse surprised DH with the flu shot which I thought was hilarious.
vivela I would always ask your dr but I will lay on my back sometimes and I'm not really worried about it. I think as long as you're feeling ok then everything should be ok. If you were getting dizzy or anything then def stop.
Andrea I'm sorry you're having it so rough with reflux! Exciting about the paint though- we want to see pics! 2dogs2kids I hope you can kick this cough soon! Take it easy. I used to get bronchitis every year & I really had to slow down and rest for it to go away.

GOmamab15 thank you. I've never had bronchitis before and I've never had such a violent nonstop cough. It is not fun and I'm sure like everything it's worse because I'm pregnant.
I'm feeling lazy today. I have a Skype date with my BFF in a few minutes and then planning on checking out a maternity consignment sale later. We've been nesting a bit lately and might try to hang up some artwork in the baby's room.

I'm sure being pregnant makes the bad even more horrible. I always had to take codeine and a steroid inhaler, is that what they're giving you? I'd think breathing is more important than avoiding medicine in this case.
@catticino my DH is completely anti baby showers. He thinks they should not be co-Ed and refuses to attend any with me.
Andrea Zantac stopped working for me in January. I asked my OB about it and she said I can take a PPI medication such as Prevacid; but when I asked her about safety she replied "Zantac is safer but you can take Prevacid." That didn't sound reassuring, so I decided to just suffer through and haven't taken Prevacid. Though the reflux is awful.
Speaking of awful, I just left the waxer where I attempted to get a Brazilian. Half way through I was in so much pain I begged the waxer to stop and told her I didn't care what it looked like. Now I'm drowning my sorrows in pasta at California Pizza Kitchen before I go home and look in the mirror at my crazy wax job. I hadn't been waxed since early first trimester and I definitely paid for it. It was painful! The waxer said "are you planning on delivering natural?" She was probably thinking "you better get an epidural if you can't tolerate this."
txmommy14, we are doing a hospital tour but our hospital has changed. No other classes though. Hopefully I manage to even schedule a tour they make it incredibly difficult to find information or a number to call.
vivela, we asked close family members to get the tdap with DS (my parents, siblings, grandparents and an aunt), people we knew would be spending time with him in the early days. I felt weird asking but whooping cough is serious business so it was necessary. DS was the first new baby in the family in a long time but when my brother's daughter was born a couple of years later it was kind of nice that everyone was already up to date.
DS has his 2nd swimming lesson this morning, it's supposed to be a thing for him and DH to do together so I'm staying home this time. I feel bad about not being there because he had such a horrible time last week but I'm also relieved, it made me too emotional to see him so upset, damn hormones.
Nevermind me, just eating a mini bundt cake for breakfast with my coffee...
My husband gets it obviously, and my mom, who will stay with us the first week or two to help, always gets it before the birth of a new grandchild. She is really good about it and I don't even have to ask her!
I also plan to just have DH and my mom get it. I might also ask my teenage sister. who lives with my mom, to get it too.

bgkc4 oh no! Sorry it was so bad! I have never been brave enough to attempt a Brazilian wax... I have very sensitive skin so I've always been worried that I would pay for it and then not make it through it.
