Whose doing it? For how long? On you or on the mat?
Anyone else feel like their baby has way more head control/strength than you expected? I know our LO has a very small head, but she can hold it up during tummy time and move her head from side to side. She also just loves tummy time. We have mostly been doing it on one of those activity mats. She loves to squirm around and look at all the stuff on the mat.

Mine doesn't mind it too much. Sometimes she falls asleep though. Lol. She lifted her head up when she was six hours old from my chest and I kinda freaked about that.
Im going to start trying to do it for at least 20 minutes a day.

Yes. I feel like infant head strength is really down played. Like we were told she wouldn't be able to move her head or support herself, etc but she clearly has some skills and it seems like a lot of other newborns do to.
I haven't done any reading about it this time around and I'm not so sure I did with the last baby either. With her I did a mix of on the chest and on a blanket or mat. I only did it for a few minutes at a time, following her cues. Sometimes she was totally down for it, others it was the worst thing ever so I picked her up and tried some other time. She eventually loved it on the regular.
Doc said not to worry about it until 1 mo. The head/neck strength she shows it when she's "rooting". She does like being on belly over boppy, falls asleep every time.
