Beware the Ides of march! So true for me already - I woke up with cramps and my period. I guess that explains why I burst into tears listening to Let it Go my James Bay (NOT the Disney song) in the car yesterday. Good thing only my girls witnessed it. And actually I'm grateful to see my period. Might have been a bit sloppy on birth control this month :/ I guess this means I'm accepting "two and thru"!!
Busy day yesterday. Went to the mall all day with the girls since it was rainy again. And we made a target run for shoes last night. I got a cute pair of stride rites on clearance for the LO. I was actually looking at skidders bc I loved those with DD1 but they didn't have any "girly" ones in stock and I'm to the point of DD2 needing to wear shoes outside (standing). I personally think stride rites are WAY overly priced for a baby's moccasin but they were decently priced and we are desperate at this point. I think they are technically boys ones too but they are more unisex looking to me. They look like little bears; so cute. Also got a new pair of clogs for DD1. She lives in them for the summer (oh who am I kidding: all year). She picked pink again...I was pushing for purple; something new. But I'm not going to be my mother...she can get the color she wants. And I'd be upset that those are so expensive too except they last for.ever. until she outgrows them. Can't ask for more then that in a shoe. I never thought I'd be so pro crocs (I was very judgey of them when they first became popular).
Last night after V and DH went to bed I went and swam at the gym. It was nice to get some exercise and me time.
Today I have to prep some corned beef and do laundry. I think we may actually make it to the library today if V keeps up taking a short first nap. It's been a while, they only have one discovery time since the are remodeling the library, and it was right in the middle of nap time.
FFTC: Totally had to Google "Ides of March". I had no clue.
I've bounced back from my sickness. Sunday was "lie still all day why is everything moving MAKE IT STAHP" day. When I had to watch DD while DH made dinner I did so laying on the floor next to her with my eyes half closed. MOTY right there. Yesterday was ok, I was up and about but hardly ate anything so had little energy. But today I'm BACK at full speed! Trying to make up for lost time at work and planing DD's (delayed b-day party).
badw0lf I remember my cat used to make these horrible low, tortured noises in the car. It was painful to listen to.
kartish Oh, I'm jelous! It was a long time since I went swimming, but I love it.

It's DH and my anniversary today - and I still have not gotten him anything. I'll at least find some time to run out and get him a card today. Usually I am pretty good at coming up with gifts but so far this year between his b-day and our anniversary I have got 0 ideas. I think I am going to see about getting us a couple's massage or something similar booked for this weekend while we are visiting the ILs.
Riding in the car with a cat with worse than riding in a car with a screaming baby.
My fat cat lost some weight so we are getting some blood work done. He is so funny at the vet. He never stops purring and the vet has to do all these tricks to listen to his heart.
For me it would be a tie if my cat hadn't shit in the cage and rolled in it last time.
DS took his first steps last night! Just a few and he obviously didn't realize what he was doing, but I'm excited nonetheless! And DH and I both got to see!
kartish I'm making it today too. I slow cooker it mishka29. And I'm always surprised to hear how many people dislike it. When cooked and cut right, it's so damn good! Maybe you can make a little one for yourself?!
Fun fact: my mom and aunt went to high school with the BAND, Ides of March. My aunt dated one of the members at one point. Their big hit in the 70s (I think) was Vehicle. I'm sure you'd recognize it - it's always played on oldies stations.
@alyllyra I didn't even know it was something I should google until you said it! Lol. Now I've done it and I'm in the know.
kartish I'm so jealous of your corn beef! I love it but everyone else in the house turns their noses up at it. How do you make it?
I'm making one in the crockpot on low, and one in baking in a pampered chef Rock crock (basically a ceramic coated stoneware covered dish). The one last year in the oven turned out better than in the crockpot. I cooked the one in the oven with potatoes in the bottom also, and the potatoes were delicious also.
Re: corned beef making - I prefer to do only the corned beef in the crock pot. One year I did the veggies in with it and everything ended up tasting the same. I like more distinct flavors for each part of the meal. And I used to boil my corned beef but if it wasn't done just right, it was tough and/or the water would be touchy (like either not simmering enough or boiling over).
seamonster yay! Do you have a timeline for hearing about the position & interview results?
Next week for the one from yesterday. But I'll ask for time to consider to see if either of us is getting another offer. They're all internal positions.
