Just a shout out to everyone who has flown and especially those flying with multiple young kids, I have so much respect for you and you are awesome! We did an hour flight and I seriously almost got off the plane before we even left. DD went nuts when we got on and would not stop having a meltdown. I Actually think she got too hot but it ended with me crying and her finally just falling asleep. She woke up when we took off and stayed awake the rest of the time. However, she was happy and I was on edge. We got lucky and nobody sat next to us. They actually probably asked to sit somewhere else when they heard us haha. I have no idea how I would do it if someone sat next to us. Wish us luck on the return flight!

Yeah, I'm glad we don't have any trips like that planned anytime soon. I could definitely foresee a meltdown happening with my LO, especially if she's been sitting too long. Hope the return flight is better.
I hated solo flying with DD1 until she was about nine. Flying coach is bad enough without the psychotic meltdowns that happen when small children are involved. It wasn't until DD1 was old enough to fully grasp that air travel is what it is and you just suck it up and deal that I was able to fly solo with her without being super stressed.
I actually didn't mind flying with a baby. We played with the plastic drink cups, the cards in the seat back pocket, and occasionally the toys I brought. We walked up and down the aisles for a change of scenery periodically. In approximately 10 flights we had one bad meltdown when it was ridiculously hot after landing and DD flipped out.
That said, I'm not flying with DD for the next 2 years at least. Air lines are horribly callous about peanut allergies and after a close friend's son had a midflight severe allergic reaction that the flight attendants brushed off, I decided it wasn't worth the risk. Or the anxiety.

My flight was pretty short but I do remember that they did not serve peanuts for a snack. They did chocolate chip cookies and pretzels. Idk if that's an all the time thing but I thought I would let you know. I also am not aware of all the things that could have potential nuts in it. But We flew JetBlue. It would be nice if there was an airline that didn't serve them.
