Have You Purchased Anything Yet?

DH is texting me pictures of onesies right now. He is insane. But I love it. My heart is so full.

Anybody made any purchases yet? Waiting til you are further along?

Besides the few onesies that I used to tell DH, we have bought 3 other things. I just purchased this off Etsy to share with family when we tell them.


Plus, we bought an adorable little onesie that says "little nugget" (because duh) at Kohls last night. Also one of those fluffy warm sleepers with the ears on the hood. Yay clearance.

Other than this I am trying not to go too crazy just yet. We have plenty of time for that.

Aww that's cute that your H is so excited! We haven't bought anything yet but I finally let myself look through the stuff that SIL gave us a while back. Tons of cute stuff in there so it makes me excited!

It certainly helps when you already have things/have been given things!

I have my fingers crossed that a few of my friends who have had babies in the last year will lend/gift me some things. And then I also remind myself that I will have all summer to garage sale!

The only thing I've bought is a pregnancy journal that's like a keepsake for baby. I began filling stuff in but then stopped because I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. Years ago I bought a SF 49ers onesie that was going to be how I told MH but then IF happened so technically baby has that. As soon as Monday comes trust me I will be in all the stores buying all the things!!!!

I made some gifts to give to friends having babies soon, and made a blanket and two burp cloths for this baby.

I won't buy anything until I know it's a boy or girl, in approximately 7-8 weeks. If it's another boy, I probably won't buy anything for a while, though.

I haven't bought anything yet specifically for this baby, but if I find out I'm having a boy, I'll have to stock up on clothes since I've spent the past several years weeding most of the boy clothes out. I also need to get a new infant car seat at some point since our old one expired last year, and we'll need to get a booster seat for my oldest daughter to try to fit three across in the back seat of our van.

I haven't bought anything! Being pregnant is still sinking in. I did ask my friend to save her maternity clothes/baby items she no longer needs or wants when we were TTC. I don't even know what she has saved for me, I thought it might be bad luck to look before being pregnant.

nuggetrn, I sew and crochet and also do other types of crafting. The blankets and burp cloths that I made this time were sewn. Snuggly flannel and cuddly fleece. (Those are Joann's names of the fabrics, not me being cute, lol.)

We have pretty much everything we will need for this baby if it's a boy, since I've been keeping all of DS's stuff organized in boxes by size over the past year+. If it's a girl we will definitely do some shopping once she is born (since we won't know until then), but we have enough neutral NB stuff from DS to get us through the first 1-2 weeks regardless.

My BIL and his wife also had a little girl only 7 months after DS so I'm hoping they might lend us some stuff too. Mostly because they have really cute stuff

Apart from clothes for baby, the thing I really want to buy is a Big Brother onesie for DS to wear when we tell our families. I haven't pulled the trigger on buying one yet, though. Maybe I'm too pessimistic but I'm still feeling a little nervous about things, and praying so hard for this LO to stick.

I've bought two Big Brother shirts for DS. I also preordered a new wrap awhile back. Technically, I got it to use with DS, but I was also hoping I could use it with a new squish.

So your post made me think about how I want to tell my parents on Easter so I ended up buying a "you're going to be grandparents" onsie. I guess this is technically my first purchase

tgrimes1980 I'm debating getting a double stroller or not, as well. B mostly wants to walk these days anyway, and I imagine by November that will be even more the case.

I haven't bought anything for the new baby yet. IIRC I waited until we knew the sex of DS before I did any shopping. We're set if it's another boy; if we have a girl we'll need clothes and I'll tweak the nursery. I love the pale blue walls and rocker we currently have but would switch out drapery and bedding for something more feminine. Furniture is white so that works.

I did order this tee for DS to wear on Easter when our family comes for dinner. I think everyone will be really excited so I can't wait!

Nothing for baby yet.  We'll probably wait to find out, if it's a boy, we are beyond set!  But I do have pinterest board going of a few new things we need and will keep an eye out for on any good deals.

Ditto minus the double stroller, since DD will be 4 in June.

But I have been browsing room themes for either gender and taking little detours through the baby section when shopping. I tell my husband I am just getting ideas, when in reality I am debating throwing things in the cart while he isn't looking.

I love our sit n stand stroller. I used it all the time when kid 3 was a baby, and the older kids were much more cooperative riding in that than the traditional double stroller.

I went and visited a friend yesterday who lives 2 hours away. Her lo is 8 months and they are in a rut since she is a sahm and not used to it yet. Around 8 months is when I experienced my lo getting bored with her toys and needing something different. So I am looking through the fb group I have locally that sells just baby stuff. I am in line for a lot of different things. Dh is going kill me, but I figure she could use the stuff first and then pass it back by the time we need it. Everyone wins right?

A lot of my friends who have had a lo in the last two year and then went from career to sahm all have hit this funk around this age. one of my friends actually got diagnosed at 1 year pp with pp depression. I am pretty sure i had it. That phase is just awful when you don't know who you are anymore because you are just a mom. I gave her a huge list of items to look for, but her area isn't as easy to shop for used items.  I also gave her some homework like going for walks outside when it is nice and to check out the library that is on their block.  I bet they have some great mommy and me classes. I also want to help her find some mommy groups for play dates.


At times I felt like I was overstepping and I don't want to be the sanctity  mommy, but she was so relieved to find  out it wasn't just her.  I really need to go up there more often.

blondie She seems very thankful for your advice. I am sure she knew she needed to get out and start doing something to help get her out of the funk and your encouragement has to be helpful.
