Does anyone have suggestions on what to wear for newborn photos? Mostly for me. I didn't do them last time and I am not sure what I should get to wear. I am overweight(like a size 14 prepregnancy).
A lot of newborn photos have the patents in either black or white and jeans. You don't want to wear any bright colors or anything that will take focus from the baby.
Most newborn pictures I see don't have a lot of mom and dad included and the ones they are in are usually pretty close up. In guess it depends on what you have planned. For J's I just wore a maternity top I liked and maternity jeans.
For DS's pics we were at home and had them taken outside in our yard. We weren't really planning on being in them, so were very casual. I wore a teal maternity top and black yoga pants and flip flops. DH had on a plain T, khaki shorts, and flip flops.

I'm not a huge fan of the white shirt look, so I wore a very pale pink and DH wore gray. The pics turned out horrible though because I had started having panic attacks the day before. We both look like crap! If we have any future kids, I think I'd just let the photography focus on the baby. I figure we will do plenty of family pics over the years.
I wore a white maternity shirt in some and a black one in some others. I was glad to have a backup because DS ended up having his first spit-up incident all over me at the shoot. H wore a white button up. We both wore jeans. DS was in a diaper (couldn't see it) in our family shots. It worked out well because the photographer ended up doing a lot of them in black and white and it looked nice.
ETA: I felt like I looked like crap and so big, but I tried to tell myself I'm still going to look better now than in 50 years when I'm looking back on the photos lol. And even looking back on them now, I don't look half as bad as I thought I did and I'm so glad we had them taken. You're going to look beautiful!
We both wore jeans. I wore a coral sleeveless top. He wore a plaid button down that didn't clash. LO was nakey/diapered. We didn't put any planning into it and I love the way they turned out. We were both comfortable so the photos revealed that.
