This last week I've started having a lot of lower abdominal pain/discomfort by the end of the day. I'm thinking of getting a support belt. Especially for our hiking trip next weekend.
Does anyone have one that they would recommend? Are they worth it? Any reason I'm not thinking of that it would be a bad idea?
I have one I bought on Amazon for $15 but I haven't busted it out yet. I need to try it, I have just been putting it off. I'll be following this thread to see if anyone has found them helpful!
My only experience with a support belt was during my pregnancy with DS. I got the Gabrialla Elastic Maternity Support Belt (medium support) to try to take some pressure off my hips while I was working. I didn't like it and didn't wear it for very long, but I think that was mostly because of the posture that I have to have while I work, which is sitting with my legs about 90 degrees apart and slightly leaning forward. In that position, it put too much pressure on my belly. I think something like that may be more helpful for walking or hiking though because you will be more upright.

I have an AZMED maternity belt that I got from Amazon, recommended by someone here! I got it for running a couple months ago and found it helpful (it probably extended my ability to jog for a few weeks). I haven't used it recently but I'm going hiking this weekend and will probably throw it in my pack for backup in case I feel uncomfortable (I haven't done a strenuous hike in a month).
I have this one and it definitely helped with my pelvic pain.
I do agree with babyzebra that if I used it while sitting for a while the pressure on my belly was uncomfortable and tended to make me nauseous. I wear it now if I'm going to be on my feet for a while and really feel a difference.

Also have the Gabrialla. I couldn't wear it all day, but it really helped me in the later hours of the day, when the belly just seemed so heavy. I'd wear it for a couple of hours when I got home from work, for example, and it provided great relief that way.

I did do a belly wrap with my woven wrap last night and I didn't have as much pain today. But probably will be too hot/bulky for hiking. It did work though for nights at home though
