soultrane both my first and second kid's rooms look like the bottom picture. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not creative or that I'm lazy, but I just can't put forth the effort to create a nice nursery. I love looking at other people's nurseries though!
Yay, more nurseries! I love SO MANY of your pieces, happyday. The set back door with the perfectly sized lettering above is really cool, too.
Thank you! That was the thing DH was really avoiding hanging bc of the spacing. I found the letters on etsy. We have the same set in dd1 room (with her name, obviously) and having her name in the lettering somewhere was DHs only definite request. Dd1 has hers over her crib, but the painting won out in dd2s room. I love where they ended up, though. Especially bc when I bought them I had no idea where to put them.
This is not to knock any of you ladies, because you all have some seriously gorgeous nurseries planned and ready and I'm jealous! This picture cracked me up the other day though, because it's so true for us!
Ha!! I SWORE when DD1 was a baby I would never do another big nursery again.

soultrane , that's too funny. I really enjoyed decorating the nursery both times, but there are definitely other things that I'm not stepping up for with #2...he's definitely getting DS's hand me downs.
ETA: I thought of the biggest difference. I made a completely custom baby book for DS. It's so full and 100% made by me and took forever and is super detailed. #2 is getting the premade once you plop in 1-3 pictures per month and make little notes. Way less detail than DS. Oh well!
soultrane LOL! Yeah my first kid's "nursery" is shaping up to be a pack'n'play shoved into a corner. I'll take a photo and AW it later
That was DD's nursery. We did eventually upgrade to a crib in the corner. This kid will also sleep in a pack n play in our room. Eventually s/he will share with DD. The room has a crib, a mattress on the floor, and an abc mat. It's very fancy.

When I was a kid my sister and I shared a room in the attic that had two twin mattresses on the floor, two bookshelves, and one dresser. It had bare floor boards and some of them had cracks between them and we could peer down and spy on our parents in the living room. We had so much fun up there!
Has anyone here done a shared toddler/infant nursery? Does anyone plan to? That is our only option and it is giving me tons of anxiety regarding everyone's sleep.
All 3 of my kids are sharing a room! I figure the baby will be in our room for a while so it will give us some adjustment time. Then we will just take it as it comes I guess!

We set up our "nursery" last night! I'm totally jealous of all the gorgeous photos here, but this photo is for all of you out there who lack the space, time, energy, or money to do more than shove a pack'n'play in the corner. You should all be impressed that I actually made the bed. The next challenge will be keeping the cats out of the baby stuff...
frecklesnbrains we had no issues keeping our cats out of stuff once we put a screaming nb in it.
I suspect that will be the case. They just need to be shut out until the baby arrives, or else the whole pack'n'play will be both torn to shreds and covered with fur

frecklesnbrains try the tin foil trick someone suggested. When I set up the bassinet, my cat instantly loved it and was napping in there within 5 minutes. I lined it with a sheet of tin foil and she hasn't set foot in it since.

ArgyleEnigma, I will try that. So far they haven't jumped inside but one of them has been scratching the netting around the sides and that worries me even more... it won't work very well if there are holes torn in it

This nursery thread came back up and It reminded me that I forgot to post this when dh finished. The right is the painting he did for ds and the left is the painting he did for baby. I love them both
