Ugh, that is rough!! Have you tried white noise, is there something around that time of morning that wakes him up (a neighbor starting their car, more traffic by the house, airplane overhead)? Have you experimented with nap times (is the last one of the day too late or too long)? That's all I can think of right now. I really hope he starts sleeping a bit later for you, no one should be up that early!

DD1 woke up around 5 am until she switched to one long nap during the day around 10 months... I would try to mess with the nap schedule more during the day... Good luck!
Sorry to say that DS1 woke up at 5am until he was two years old nothing we did helped until he moved to a real bed and we got him one of those light up clocks (which obviously won't work for your 8 month old).! My solution was to make DH get up with him since I did all motn stuff.
