I started my day with acupuncture so I'm feeling pretty good. This was seriously the worst period in terms of cramping I've had in a long time and I'm so glad it's almost over. I think I will temp this month, with last cycle being 51 days long I need some kind of reference throughout to know it will be ending at some point.
Keeping everything crossed that next cycle's ultrasound will show no cysts and we can proceed with an injectable cycle as planned.
QOTW: I usually have a veggie garden, but we're moving in June so I don't know how much I'll plant this year. Probably just some lettuce, tomoatos, and I'm hoping my strawberries come in before we leave! As for flowers, I'm a black thumb with them so I don't even try.

Last week was weird for a couple of reasons. V takes a thyroid medication but she told me on Friday that she thinks she may have missed a couple pills during the week - she was feeling kind of off (dizzy, not herself, etc.).
Additionally, she went to acupuncture on Thursday, and V's acupuncturist told her that she didn't have enough "qi" to get pregnant right now (take that for what it's worth). She told me this on Friday, and I was immediately angry and defensive on her behalf. However, even though she was initially upset, V felt that her acupuncturist offered a lot of support with her fertility goals.
So, after a long heart-to-heart, we decided to wait until her next cycle for another IUI attempt. We're pretty sure she ovulated last week anyway, but she wasn't super on top of her testing each day, so we are fairly certain we missed our window this month. Hopefully, she'll be feeling a lot better in a few weeks!
Anyhow, thanks to any and all of you who may have read my last rant about my wife and not judging me (out loud, anyway!). V may be scatterbrained, but she's my beautiful, scatterbrained Love, and everything that I wrote on Friday makes a lot more sense now that I know what was happening with her last week.
QOTW: Even though it's officially Spring, we woke up to a snowstorm today! Most schools around us are closed, and the morning commute was rough. Luckily, I am not that into gardening, so I'm not overly worried about our plants. My wife planted bulbs, and we have some plants/trees, but I don't know enough about them to know whether or not this crappy weather ruined them.

I am just waiting to have my polyps removed on 3/25. I'm actually incredibly nervous about it, as I will only be partially sedated with an IV drip, they will make me "comfortable" but it won't be easy. Awesome. I'm so excited. I havent slept in about a week over it.
I am also trying to figure out how many inseminations to do with the fresh sperm during our fertile week, I just can't figure that one out.
And no, I have a black thumb. I just steal veggies from my grandma

Best of luck to everyone, this month.
Tomorrow is it. Our first attempt at baby number two. And despite the fact that I've been bouncing around like a bunny on berocca for the last two weeks, I've reached a strangely calm and centred state since this morning. A says she noticed it in me when we were ttc little S. Apparently, the day before and the day of insem, it's like I've reached the eye of the storm. I feel different. The only other time I've felt like this is when I was carrying little S. If it weren't for the tiny noisy person I'm trying to keep an eye on, I'd build a den of duvets and snuggle down for some quiet reflection time.
Tomorrow, R (the donor) will be over at lunch to do his business then he will be off, leaving A and I to do our thing. We thought that since we're both off tomorrow, we'd take a late stroll by the waterfront. Maybe order a pizza once S has gone bed and pick out a chick-flick.
QOTW: We don't have a garden at the moment but I grow peppers, toms, etc in the window and I plan to manage a basic veggie patch (thanks to practice in my parents' allotment) once a plot becomes available through the council - perhaps a couple chickens. We will have to see.

Hey everyone! I've been out of the loop lately. Work stuff, anxiety home stuff, stressful visitors, you know how it goes
Anyway, the countdown is on. 3/31 is the official transfer day. We got out with 4 good embryos currently on ice. We'll transfer 1 next Thursday. Oh the anxiety builds and builds, but I'm trying to do that magic combo of positive self-talk and total distraction. So far so good.
QOTW: I've always wanted to have a garden, to know and participate in where our food comes from, but it's not looking like that'll happen anytime soon. With my daily commute I hardly have time to go to the gym and make dinner and unwind, so I'm currently working on plans for a decent container herb garden, probably toss in some tomatoes and peppers for fresh salsa/guac this summer too. I love having fresh herbs to cook with and buying them seems silly.

We had an adventure today. A got called out to work so I was left to insem alone. With a toddler. So yeah...
Turns out, my British make-do-and-mend attitude is unflappable! I insemmed upright in the en-suite, whilst little S tore the bedroom apart - we probably lost a fair bit doing it that way but there was no way I was doing it in the room with our toddler. Then I quickly popped on some pants and hopped on the bed to put my feet up whilst S demolished what was left of our bedroom. Don't think this is our month. I'm still going through the motions of early pregnancy precautions: diet and reduced physical exertion, etc. But I'm pretty doubtful anything will come of it.
Although my partner is a native of Peru, she still has strong family ties to Spain, where it's the custom to wear red underwear on New Years eve for luck (in Peru, it's yellow) It's been our custom to wear red underwear for anything we need that extra boost for: job interviews, exams and TTC. As a very thoughtful gift to start our new journey, A has provided me with a week's worth of red underwear
