I need to strip my diapers and start using them! I was just waiting until S' plastibell fell off, but that's been a while. Now I'm just being lazy. I'm trying gdiapers for the first time on him. I used the flip system with dd2. I really liked the cover/insert system, and it seemed like I saved a lot on it
I have 4 little bears, just like my name says. 2 girls 2 boys ages 8,5,3, and my newest babe. 2 of my little bears have life threatening food allergies, feel free to ask me more about that!
We started using cloth the day my son's cord stump fell off. We're temporarily back in disposables because we have thrush and I hate them. I think they smell gross and the trash makes me sad.
We use Green Mountain Diapers prefolds and covers by Thirsties and Rumparooz. It's super easy and inexpensive. And really friggin' cute.

We got a couple boxes of disposable newborn size Pampers as gifts, so I've been using those for the past three weeks. We're down to just one sleeve left though, so we'll be back into the SoftBums soon! (I cloth diapered with DS, loved it, and am glad I get to reuse them!)

emmyg65 we use the exact same rprooz and thirsties.
I'm really not thrilled with how the rprooz fit her so I always use them second. We also have the diaper rite brand workhorse for night time and I love them.
We started using them at 5 days old. Basically as soon as all the meconium had passed.
We started this weekend after his cord stump fell off. We found the right combination for us-- bamboo Kawaii inserts with econobum newborn covers. I need to order a couple more covers since Mr. FussyPoopyPants (FPP for short) likes to poop and pee on us in the middle of changes if we let our guard down. I have thirsties XS newborn covers but they are huge on him so we'll try them again in a few weeks.
Despite being 9 pounds, he's skinny. I think all his weight is in that giant head of his!
We're using disposable at night until we get the hang of CD'ing to help avoid nighttime messes, which turn into a disaster for everyone involved. After that, it'll just be disposables for doctor appointments and travel to make things easier on us.
We've been using CD part time for about 3 weeks. I waited until the meconium poops were gone. His legs have been too skinny so we CD during the day when I have the patience for leaky diapers and use disposables at night.
We have Grovia all in one diapers but I was lazy with ds 1, I started with disposables at night and when we were on the go, but basically that's 90% of diapers. Dh was better about using them but I'll admit I was lazy and will try again this time :-)
Waiting til stump falls off, we're doing mostly prefolds and covers. We did inherit a few all-in-ones so I'll figure out when to incorporate those. Still confused how to have a cold/hot wash cycle without starting washer twice with a load. Ugh

cherryfive I restart my washer three times to do her diapers. One warm rinse, one hot wash, and a final cold rinse. Unless you have a fancy programable washer I'm not sure there's any way around that.....

How long have you been using them? We started using them over the weekend after LP's cord stump fell off. I felt like the diaper covers (newborn size) were too big for him before that anyway. We're still using disposables at night
Things that worked or didn't work in your routine? Right now we're using GMD prefolds and workhorses with Thirsties and Blueberry covers. It took us a few tries to get the hang of prefolds, but the newspaper fold is working well for us so far!

This will be my first time CDing (FTM) and I am waiting until we use up all of the newborn size disposables we were given. Also, I only bought OS dipes so I want to wait until they fit to avoid leaks. I bought a combo of pockets, aios, and covers with prefolds and flats to see what works best for us. It will be great to have a check-in for this because I'm sure I will have questions once we start

tomorrowisanotherday & motorgene it's my first time cloth diapering as well. There's some experienced mommas here but I was also happy to see that the CD board came on over with us.
Hi ladies, I don't post often, but I'm a ftm using cd on my 2 week old and I'd appreciate some advice! We've been using disposable wipes so far, and i was hoping y'all could recommend your cloth wipe routines. Do you have a tub with wipe juice, or use a spray bottle? Water or a wipe solution like water and tea tree oil? I'd like to get away from disposable wipes and save them for our diaper bag. Thanks in advance!

We were given a bunch of used CD but I haven't washed them yet. I want to make sure I clean them very very well but I'm not 100% sure what the best way is. I've had several different suggestions from friends. What would you ladies do? Thanks for your help
We have been using cloth for about a week now. We are using newborn prefolds and thirsties covers. I am wishing my stash was a bit bigger, but I am not wanting to spend anymore money on newborn size. I am tired of washing everyday. When she sizes up, maybe I'll expand my stash. We also have big 4.0 inserts for about 6 months plus. I didn't start cloth with my DD1 until 6 months, so the newborn/infant stash was new to me.

hstrawberry for my used ones I did 1. Regular rinse 2. Hot wash with detergent 3. Wash with bleach (I think I used 1/4 cup) 4. Rinse until bleach smell is gone (3/4 times)

I used a cup of water, a 1/4 tbsp dr.bronners baby soap, and a drop of tea tree oil. This worked well for us in the spray bottle. But it kept getting musty smelling if I got the wipes wet ahead of time. I think I was making too many at a time.

ourcrazynavylife thanks so much!!! I was leaning towards bleach but using detergent first is a great idea!

All I can say about wipes is I live the Grovia! After first wash they are soft and absorbent. When I babysat I disliked the cw they used which were other popular brands like Thirsties and bum something... Can't remember exactly was that brand is called. Oh and I want to try a witch hazel, lavender oil, lavender baby wash and water mix. Soothing, antiseptic, and antifungal. Can't wait til uc falls off!

I'm using all the same stuff from my older son, so nice to have free diapers this time around!
I use: GMD prefolds in orange with Bummis superbrite newborn covers.
GMD yellow prefolds with Thirsties Size 1 duo wraps.
GMD red and brown prefolds with Blueberry coveralls.
For overnights starting at about 3 months, I use Bum Genius 4.0 pockets stuffed with various combos of microfiber and Thirsties hemp inserts to adjust absorbancy to potty training.
I use cloth wipes that are just Circo baby wash cloths from Target with water only in a peri bottle.
Wash routine with an old top loader: Cold rinse Hot wash with one Dropps free/clear packet Extra cold rinse Dry prefolds and inserts on hot, hang covers and pockets to air dry.
