She literally growls for food and throws her bottle down if someone eats in front of her.. and is enthusiastically "mmmm ymmm" ing the whole time she's eating anything she's ever eaten. My guess at a favorite would be banana, avocado, and chicken, but I think thats just what's most recognizable to her because she's had them most often. She got just as excited for garlic green beans tonight and had no idea what they were, so... I don't know. Girl likes to eat!
He eats most anything but favs are - pasta, I give him quinoa and lentil pasta since they have more nutrition than wheat - scrambled egg - strawberries - avocado - hummus toast - mango, kale and pear pouch - puffs

C loves any and all fruit. Spaghetti is a new fave as was THE beef Taco meat. She's good with most veggies and prefers avocado (still a fruit I know), zucchini and broccoli.
Add me to the anything digestible list. I'm not even sure what would be considered a favourite of hers. Fruit and pasta probably. She really likes ground beef too.
Q: Does picky eating come with age or is there hope he'll continue to love everything?
IME they all reach an age where they need/want to assert their control and that comes in the form of "pickiness." Food is an area where they can explore expression. I've yet to meet a toddler who didn't go through some form of picky eating, but the extent is going to vary.

Agreed. One thing I think that helps is continuing the wide variety as consistently as possible. I notice if I don't offer a particular food for awhile, DS1 can have a hard time warming back up to it.
In general, I am surprised so many LO's like peanut butter. I tried giving my LO a peanut butter and jelly sandwich once (in pieces) and after one bite he wanted nothing to do with it.
Maybe the sandwhich is too much. Try giving just a spoon to suck on with peanut butter on it?
I cut out tomato, citrus and egg for a while because of eczema, so that's limited DS eating from our plate. He loves everything he's given, including the three categories we try to avoid though. We try to eat what's in season and grown here. Things he eats often are:
Soups (lentil, butternut, mushroom, chicken etc) Pasta (herb and buttered, tuna or occasionally red sauce) Cucumber slices Beef stew Sweet potato Mashed potatoes Hummus Rice 'pat-a-cakes' (Love Child) Mushies (Baby Gourmet) Carrots Toast and natural peanut butter Scalloped potatoes Chicken breast Steak Meatballs Zucchini pancakes Apples Like crazy Bananas for days Apple cinnamon oats Applesauce

If your baby is eating all those things above you DO NOT have a picky eater
My SS is a unicorn and since I've known him hasn't been picky. He still will pick healthy food over junk. I have to keep reminding myself and MH that likely won't repeat with DS. Lol.
But this is its own form of picky eating, no?
I mean, LBB won't touch mashed potatoes with a 10 foot pole. I have multiple friends who have kids that won't eat macaroni and cheese, pasta, or pizza. Just because they're pickiness veers towards healthy choices, doesn't mean they aren't picky.

Good point! DS1 is a healthy eater but he has to eat everything plain-jane. Like if I make pasta salad, I leave some noodles/veggies dry with no dressing for him. Same with leaf salad, if it's pre-dressed, it's a no go. In that sense, he's picky.
