Hi ladies, I'm still in shock as I write this, but I guess I go here now...
My story: DS (my first and only) is 10 months old, and I participate on the May15 board. I am 38 (and so is DH). I have PCOS and haven't had my period in almost 3 years. For DS, I was prescribed clomid to ovulate, and fortunately I got pregnant right away. Our amazing son was born in May, and I still EBF (along with solids), so between that and the PCOS, I not surprisingly have not had my period.
A couple of weeks ago, DH and I started talking about maybe starting to try for a second late this summer (spoiler alert: I was already pregnant when we made this decision). On Monday, I went to see an RE about what I would have to do to conceive this time and what this meant for breastfeeding DS. He said to come back 2-3 months after I stopped breastfeeding, so he could reliably test my fsh levels (spoiler alert: I was already pregnant).
Cut to today. I've been feeling very tired and a bit nauseous, so on a whim, I took a pregnancy test that I had left over from last time. I knew it would be negative. It was positive. I took another test from another company. Positive. We went to a walk-in gyn clinic that would do an U/S right away. 6w2d. EDD 11/21/16. We saw the little nugget and saw and heard the heartbeat. We are completely shocked and overwhelmed, but feel incredibly fortunate. This is definitely sooner than we'd planned (and I'm a planner!), but we know how very lucky we are.
I just spent the last hour reading through old threads on this BMB. I look forward to getting to know all of you!
