DS has been going to sleep around 8 and waking up at 7. It's heaven. I'm showered, sipping coffee and laying in bed while he wakes up.
And I'll throw in an UO- I hate when DS wears sweat pants to school. I wish there was a better option besides jeans or sweat pants. Like....leggings for boys? I don't know. I lump athletic pants and sweat pants in the same category. I guess I just want leggings for little boys that aren't an arm and a leg from designers.
I worked last night and money was shit because of ridiculous bullshit. I'm slowly but surely getting over my job. Also, K decided to wake up an hour early. Awesome. I have her "reading" the morning paper so that I can have my feet up without being harassed. I need to crunch all of our numbers so I can see what kind of package I can afford initially with this company too.
melody330, What's an arm and a leg? DD is the first little girl in my family in about 15 years so I haven't bought clothes other than pajamas. I'm living in denial over how much kid clothes cost.
I meant stuff that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. As in...too much money. Sorry words are hard before coffee
Oh no. I totally got that. I meant are little boys clothes really getting that expensive? Like adult prices? I can imagine maybe paying 20 or less for pants but if we're talking 30+ for little boy clothes I can see that being an arm and a leg.

It's my day off and I slept like poo. DD woke me crying at 1am because she had to pee and apparently forgot how to do that. I was up tossing and turning until 4. H's alarm was at 4:45. DD climbed in bed and wanted to talk about Chuck-E-Cheese at 6.
I don't think it's an UO to anyone that about 98% of little boy clothing is hideous. And with boys, it seems you have to pay a ton more for cute stuff and I don't have a mini Boden budget. I'm going to have to flex all my consignment muscles to keep this kid looking cute.
My mom is trying to push for a sprinkle for me and I know it would be mostly clothes plus a hassle since she's far away and I'm trying to turn it down. #ungrateful
It's usually not bad, but I'm picky about his clothes. I really don't like too many shirts with phrases on them like ''mommy's little man" or "handsome like daddy". So I search around a lot. Target is usually pretty good if you have the cartwheel app. Carters and OshKosh only if you have coupons and I usually buy off season clothes so they are on sale
cabbagecabbage you're totally right about boy clothes. Most of them are terrible. I don't like stripes, sayings on the clothes, or button up/collared shirts. And the girls sections are always so so much bigger than the boys. It's terrible.
My mom asked if I wanted a sprinkle, but I politely declined. We are team green and have all the things from DS. She decided she's going to throw a party once the baby gets here in August so everyone can meet the baby. I'm not sure how I feel about it.

melody330 no stripes is tough! Stripes are like the default if you want to avoid words, characters, or apliques (which I do. I can't handle even little patches on clothes.)
My main complaint is that the colors are so drab. Navy, brown, black, gray. I like them fine but every decent outfit looks funeral appropriate. The bright stuff is themed or says "mommy's champ" or whatever and that's a dealbreaker. So far I'm in love with some fox pants, some glasses printed onesies, and a gingham Jamie and Jack one piece.
I love the Gap's rainbow striped onesies that are boy appropriate but I think they're 24.95 or something.

I've had several people ask me about throwing a shower for this baby too and I have declined every time also. We bought all of the gear for DD gender neutral, so if this is a boy the only thing that we will need is clothes. I thought about doing an informal meet the baby cookout or something in August and people can bring something if they feel it necessary I guess. It's so weird to me how many people want to do a shower for those having their second child when the first is not that much younger. I get it when there are big gaps, first baby on one side of the family, etc, but when it is H and I's second kid when our first is two? I don't get it. I guess add me to the ungrateful list too haha!
cabbagecabbage, See my main complaint about girl clothes is how colorful they are. I love neutrals. I hate pink. I can't wait until inventory comes in and I can throw DD into some skull leggings. Lol. But that's me

I got an email from DS's school this morning that one of the kids in his class was diagnosed with the flu. So, now I just get to wait and watch DS like a hawk to see if he develops it. We have all had the flu shot but he was in the same class with this kid so I imagine he will get it which means we will all get it.
Ugh, this is just not what I wanted to wake up to.

And I just listened to DD run up the stairs, flip on the bathroom fan and open the toilet seat. Five seconds later, her tiny voice. "Come on, poop. I know you're in there!"
The boy clothes struggle is real. Now that DS is getting older half of the clothes say something like number 1 draft pick, worlds best something or another. Drives me crazy. Thankfully my family has good taste and get him a lot of cute clothes as gifts!
I thought I just ate to many sweets last weekend but no my morning sickness came back, wtf. I'm so over it. I was feeling so good I thought it was gone for good. I hate puking.
I guess my UO is that I think boy clothing is super cute! My mom has great taste and has gotten so many clothes for DS. Most are Carters and don't have sayings but have cute designs. I'm not a frilly or pink person so if this baby is a girl, I know I'll struggle with girl clothing.
melody330, I do wish there were more options besides jeans and sweats though. We are potty training this weekend so we need easy on/off bottoms so jeans are not going to cut it. It's warm where I live now so DS is going to be living in basketball shorts or anything I can find that's elastic and loose. Not the best look, but I don't think I have much of an choice.
tootsie, as long as you're not planning the shower or asking people to throw you one, I don't think it's tacky. Some people just love throwing moms showers regardless of what baby # it is. I'm not into showers for STMs but that's mostly because there is truly nothing I need. I was team green both times so most clothing up to 6 months is gender neutral, and this baby will be getting all of DS's baby gear. I wouldn't even know what to register for - all I can think that I need are breast pads/ointment and very few people are going to buy me that!
I had a chocolate sprinkle donut this morning and it was amazing!
+1 on boys clothing. Not into the sayings. H mostly dressed T which comprised of Under Armour (that we always bought on clearance) or sports teams. On girl clothing, I am not a super frilly pink person so it has been a struggle.
My step-mom and sister insisted on throwing me a shower and I am a STM. We have all the big stuff from T so it will mostly be clothes. I would have a registry regardless for the completion discount I am not opposed to sprinkles in subsequent children because I like a good pachanga lol

Had a check-up at the OB yesterday. Had good news, eh news, and bad news.
Good news: I can start doing light yoga and walking a little more. We have an ultrasound scheduled on April 28 to check the placenta, and also doing a 4D!!!
Eh news: Measuring 4 weeks ahead, 14 lbs gained in 4 weeks but she says she's not sure if she believes it because I'm not carrying excess weight except in my belly.
Bad news: Normally my BP is 95-110/50-60. Yesterday it was 142/85. I have to go back in tomorrow to recheck and possibly run some more tests. Boo. I have a few other signs that COULD point to pre-e, but I'm really hoping not and it was just a fluke.
cocobellaf, Sorry about the shitty news. Hopefully all the testing goes well. If it doesn't, on the bright side at least you're in a better position than your grandmother with modern medicine and better monitoring. I'm in a similar position with the cholestasis, that's how my grandmother lost two of hers. So while it's insanely stressful, try to stay positive. You've got a lot of years of medical research on your side.
tootsie, I made a registry too, mainly for the coupons and to organize the things I would like. There's not really anything we need. So if anyone really wants to get us something, they can look that up.
cocobellaf, I'm sorry you didn't get very good news, I'm hoping it's not pre-e! At least if it is, you know what to keep an eye out for and will be monitored closely. But yay for doing yoga, I really need to start doing that too!

I'm sorry cocobellaf. I know nothing olof the hereditary part of pre-e but I agree that medicine has progressed so much that even on a worse case scenario, you will almost certainly have a safe and healthy child and mama.
I have a registry too but I haven't shared it with anyone. It's been good for me to remember what needs replacing and I delete things as I buy them used. Like this week it occurred to me to look at baby books and I chose one I liked. I want to pimp my stroller with a new cup holder. Stuff like that.
Welp I guess this is a UO then but I am really digging all the little boy clothes out there! I was worried I wouldn't but I'm having a hard time not constantly buying more. DH isn't a fan of the shirts with sayings on them which seems to be 90% of boys clothing, but we've managed to find some really adorable bodysuits from Carters that I'm obsessed with and can't wait to put on Sam!
cocobellaf, I had pre-e with T and was induced with T at 37 weeks after a week of hospital bed rest. Not the funnest thing in the world but not the worst. The other thing with pre-e is they had me on magnesium sulfate for as soon as I was induced and for 12 hours after I had T to prevent seizures since my bp was through the roof. Bp and swelling were really bad with me and they started right about now so I am monitoring my swelling daily. (By the end with T my toes wouldnt even touch the floor my feet were so swollen.) This time I am on labelol to keep my bp in check. So far it has been working. Another side note, T had a growth ultrasound at 36 weeks and his due date per the machine was in the past He ended up being 8lbs 2oz even being 3 weeks early.
Hope all the tests go well! Will be thinking of you.
