It's f*cking snowing at my house. Ugh. Today I'm taking DD to a big kid party (she's 3 and the birthday girl is turning 5) for the afternoon. My husband will come after work and I am leaving to my painting instruction job until about 9.
I got a few things cleaned today and vacuumed the whole house. I'm a bad housekerper, so this is a big deal.
Tomorrow I'm doing nothing and hoping the sunshine returns.
Waiting for our birthing center tour to start, and then after that we're going to a tulip festival and outlet mall shopping. I'm irrationally excited to tour the birthing area and see everything lol
Hi-haven't had a chance to post in a while-but I'm on spring break so I have a little downtime. Looking forward to catching up. I went to a mom to mom sale for the first time today and got lots of cute baby girl clothes for great prices, and I went to my first pre-natal yoga class. It felt great! My back has been hurting and it really helped. It snowed by me too-not great weather for spring break!
Today is day 1 of potty training. So far it's going much better than I expected! We obviously have a long way to go to say we are done but crossing my fingers for continued success!
First day of soccer for DD and it went just as I expected, not amazing. She played appropriately for first 15 minutes but was done after that. Not stressing it

Good for you! I hope it continues to go well! DS has been interested in the potty, so I bought a kid seat that goes on the toilet. I put him on when he asks, but so far he hasn't done anything on it. Not sure that he gets the whole idea, but right now we're just having fun with it.

Before today, we've basically done zero potty training. DS wouldn't even sit on the potty for more than a second. But he responds really well to high praise so I think when he peed on it this morning after having 2 accidents on the floor and H and I told him how great he did, he loved that attention. We've actually had trouble getting him off the potty! But he's doing great so him staying on the potty is better than the alternative of peeing and pooping all over the house. The really big test will come when I am brave enough to venture out of the house later this week!
For us, DS responds best to ripping the bandaid off and going 100%. I really want him to be potty trained by the time this baby comes along so I knew we had to do something intense. It's exhausting, but hopefully it will pay off. Good luck to you whenever you decide to really tackle it!
rungirlrun sorry if I missed it, but how old is your DS?
I would like DS to be PT by the time the baby comes as well. Our last day of school is in June, so I think I will start then and see how it goes. He goes pee on the potty for bribes (aka a chocolate chip). And if he doesn't have a diaper on he will usually tell us he has to pee. Hopefully by June he will be ready!
Nothing exciting on the agenda for today. We are suppose to get freezing cold temps this week and today the wind is howling and it's hailing sometimes. Uuugggh. I need it to be dress weather! Back to school tomorrow. I'm sad, but happy to get back into our routine.

He's 2.5 (3 in mid Sept). I think he would have been ready to potty train earlier, but I wasn't! Good luck when you do it!
I have been totally MIA lately. I thought I had been checking in every once in awhile but there were so many threads I didn't recognize today I had to verify I was on the right board.
DS just woke up from his first nap and I'm about to get a shower and head over to my moms for lunch and some crafting.
We are potty training as well. We started last weekend, then DD got sick and requested her diapers back. Went back to diapers Mon-Wed of last week. I was worried on Thursday that the backslide would mean having to start from scratch but luckily, she went right back into it. She still won't go #2 in the potty but she's peeing in the potty pretty consistently. I'm on board with the rest of you who are trying to potty train before starting all over with a baby in diapers. DD is 2.5, she will be 3 in Oct.

Thanks! Right now I don't think he's fully ready (or motivated), so I'll probably wait until after baby arrives. But the ball is rolling! Keep us posted on how it's going!

Can you take the battery out of your phone? With Apple you can't which is why the rice in bag trick doesn't work

I can take the battery out, but when I took the phone apart it was pretty much dry inside!
