Morning all! I had a rough first day and night without dh. Leo decided to be difficult for no reason. Started off early with not letting me buckle him in his carseat but daddy could. He would arch his back, cry and end up off the seat each time I tried. And that's how the rest of the day went. The night wasn't so bad. I kept tossing and turning and he kept crying out for some reason. I have to rethink my morning routine. I did not get a chance to shower this a.m.
And I dropped Leo off at DC. Teachers all remembered him. He did not. He cried when I left. I felt awful. Hopefully food and new toys will help him adjust.
That sounds like a rough morning littlelion FX you find a good rhythm soon and Leo warms up to DC & that time flies while DH is away
I'm feeling pretty exhausted and not ready for the week. I had such a productive week last week and the thought of repeating that makes me want to crawl into a hole and sleep.
I didn't get a chance to clean the apartment this weekend. Waking up to a mess makes me grouchy
Plus it's cold and rainy here. At least it suits my mood :-|
littlelion Sorry you're having such a rough start to your day. bkmama0 Those are the days when all I want is hot cocoa and a book.
I have been MIA for a week. Its been pretty hectic here. Easter happened and I never posted my pics on here. FIL got the okay to go back to work, which has left me dealing with LO, two dogs, plus any workers who stop by. IL's are getting their bathrooms redone, and this first one is taking forever! DH's birthday was Saturday. We went out to dinner Friday night with his family. I couldn't eat a lot. My hockey play offs were this weekend also. I had a game Fri night (10:15 pm), Sat night (7:15 pm, but the refs were late), and Sun morning (10:45 am). I am sore, tired, and I have a weird thing on my wrist. I think someone slashed my wrist and with all my adrenaline going, I didn't notice until after the game. We didn't win the tournament, but we're not the worst! We came in 3rd (out of 4 lol) The weather has been absolutely gorgeous and we've been trying to enjoy every moment we can. In Colorado, the weather can change in an instant. One day, 85 F, the next day it's snowing, day after it's 85 again with 3 feet on the ground. I've been trying to take her to every park in town to see which one she likes best. A few misses, a few hidden hits. I have to finish laundry today. I don't mind washing, drying, or folding. For some reason, putting it away feels soooooo tedious. It's all sitting neatly folded in baskets. My poor husband.
littlelion poor Leo and poor mama that is a lot of sudden change, hope he adjusts quickly! bkmama0 I was also in a funk last week. Sorry if I passed it to you hope it turns around quickly for you. raven I remember one year i was visiting CO in January and we went ice skating without our coats because it was 60 and then next day my flight was canceled because a huge storm moved through. I also hate the putting away of laundry! It just sits I baskets until I run out of baskets and then it has to be put away.
Nothing planned here today except playing outside and then going to the craft store to get some room darkening drapery lining. We might have a play date tonight but this friend sometimes changes plans last minute so not making too many plans on that front.

littlelion so sorry you're off to a rough start of Yh's trip. I'm sure Leo will adjust to the new daycare routine soon. I feel you on morning routine problems. Mh often travels for work during the week or has to leave before I'm up. When B doesn't sleep in, which is 90% of the time, I'm always late and to shower he goes in the packnplay with Mickey on TV. bkmama0 sorry you're in a bad mood, hope your week gets better! raven GL with all your busy times and enjoy the nice weather! I'm the same with laundry, but the worst is hanging things. They get draped across something and never get hung up! nemomof2 have a fun day, hope your play date works out! kcrus is today your first day at your new job? Am I imagining this? GL if it is, hope all is going well!
littlelion sorry for the rough start to your Monday! On days when I can't wait until naptime to shower, I bring lo's little chair into the bathroom and get him all set up with Sesame Street on the tablet. It's been a lifesaver. bkmama0 I'm the same way with waking up to a messy house. Glad I'm not the only one! Dh could care less. raven we used to be the same way with laundry. Didn't mind folding it, but then it would sit in the basket until I needed it for next laundry day. Now that lo has discovered how much he loves to throw laundry around, that's my motivation to actually put it away. Lol I still hate it, but I hate refolding things eleventy billion times more. nemomof2 that's so annoying when people are flaky about plans! reginaphalange3 hope your day has turned around! If not you should probably just add some Bailey's to that coffee/water.
bkmama0, hope your week turns out much better than anticipated! I get grouchy when I know I cleaned the place up and yet I stop, look around and it's messy again.
raven, that weather in CO is crazy. we don't fluctuate that much but it's still a tease.
nemomof2, Lately my laundry has been left in the dryer, not even folded. jokes on me because this morning I actually had to iron my blouse. Leo went to DC wrinkly.
reginaphalange3, Lol, I always wondered if coffee counted for my water intake.
ashlantic, ugh, this mornings issue was Leo was alseep. He cried in his sleep at 5 am and would snuggle close to me to fall asleep. And every time I tried to get off the bed he'd wake up. Until 6:15 when he was out like a light. I felt so bad waking him up at 6:30 to get him ready. I'm going to try showering in the evenings and having all our clothes ready. Plus moving bedtime to 7 pm.
They should make a meal planning app. You just check things you like and it plans the weeks meals for you and has a grocery list. Unless there is one already. I would pay for that one.
Lo slept in long enough that I was able to push nap a little bit and make it to story time at the library! There was only one other toddler, but better than last time when there weren't any. Lo had fun and that's what matters.
But when we got back home I set him down and he immediately face planted into the cabinet. He's sporting a fat lip and a bruise that must have developed during naptime. I felt horrible. I think we both cried.

Sorry it's off to a rough start littlelion I hope the rest of the month goes smoothly. Dh was gone for 5 days last week and it was so hard, but we eventually got into a good rythym after a couple days.

ashlantic glad you made it to story time but sorry for LO's fall. B has been making me nervous these days trying to run everywhere and getting into everything! nemomof2 I would definitely pay for that too! I haven't googled but I would bet there is one out there. There's an app for everything!
Sorry for the rough start littlelion. Hopefully you and Leo get into a groove quickly. I bring F into the bathroom with me every morning while I shower. She drinks her milk then brushes her teeth and by the time she's done so am I. raven We're having crazy weather here too. Woke up to snow this morning so had to dig out winter stuff again, then by the end of the day it was all gone, sun shining and warm. ashlantic Sorry about LO's fall I was just letting F push a laundry basket around and she took a huge spill backwards, smacking her head off the floor and I felt terrible.
Can I just AW my hubby for a second? We went to play group yesterday for a few hours and came home to see he organized her closet and hair accessories, which I've been meaning to do for weeks but keep procrastinating

We had the big Easter egg hunt here yesterday. It went pretty well but was stressful getting things ready! Also I tried to plan the egg hunt color coded based on age, but it didn't go as smoothly as is imagined. Plus the weather was not great (pretty chilly and windy) so only some of the older kids played outside and inside was really cramped! Plus we spent all that time cleaning and when people left there was mud everywhere. Oh well, hope people had fun. I was so exhausted after the party and so was B, I was sure he would sleep through last night. Nope, up every two hours. I guess it must be his teeth but it's killing me! We made it to our storytime at the library which was nice, but I was counting on a long nap to clean and relax but he somehow only slept 20 min. We watched a lot of Mickey even though it only half distracts him. Then I had to go to a computer fair (like a science fair) bc one of my students had entered a project. That was actually cool, and I wish I could've gone for more of the day without baby. B was good there and my student won 1st in his category so my day did get better, but I'm still just so tired. Desperately hoping for sleep tonight since I have to work tomorrow, but I also want to watch the march madness finals! Ahhh decisions!
BabyStandish boo that stinks. Mother's Day gift?! Did your rug dry out ok?
Ha I wish! Yeah, I think it's all dry. I'm giving it another day before we roll it back just in case. We need to go buy new floor padding since it was so soaked that it tore apart when I took it out. That stuff should be pretty cheap though.
megpie5 definitely worth aw'ing! reginaphalange3 hope you get to recharge soon! And I'm sure everyone had a good time egg hunting! BabyStandish the humanity of it all!
Lo had so much fun with his bath markers that I was brave? stupid? and gave him markers and paper to play with. He had a blast! I had some little short markers (Crayola pipsqueaks) and they were perfect for his little hands.
littlelion how did bedtime go tonight? nemomof2 ooh that app would be fantastic! Then I could stop nagging dh to help me think of meals. Lol megpie5 way to go to YH! That's awesome. reginaphalange3 omg that sounds like a marathon of a day. Hope B sleeps better for you! BabyStandish I like reginaphalange3's idea. New cappuccino machine = early Mother's day gift. ourcrazynavylife if it makes you feel any better I made roasted potatoes and carrots to go with the pork roast... and they definitely took twice as long to cook than the recipe said. Lo was pissed that he had to wait for the rest of dinner and I had to wait until after yoga class to eat.
