What a crazy cool coincidence!!
Also very cool that you get to scrub for OR. I think that would be pretty cool to get to do. When I was orienting at the first hospital I worked at I got to sit in on one of the docs doing robotic surgery. He laproscopically removed a cancerous gallbladder from across the room. So cool.
ETA I did just reread though and maybe you actually hate scrubbing. Haha. Somehow I missed that the first time around.
We actually work with plastic surgeons on Mondays and see a lot of hand injuries and breast reconstructions post mastectomy. I really enjoy it.
That work with the plastic surgeon must be awesome. Since we're all lower extremity 95% of what I do deals with limb salvage. We get them most of the time when the hospital doesn't even feel like working with them anymore, but the patient isn't ready for an amputation. I've met some very interesting people over the past year.
Ooh. I think that I would want to see an amp a couple of times. But yes.... I can see how that would get old.
Our main doc is a limb salvage guy too!! He is very well known in our area. He is great to work with. We work with the plastic surgeons (and their residents) on Mondays, the surgical podiatrist (limb salvage) three days of the week, and a general surgeon on Fridays. It is cool We get to see so many things. Mondays are crazy and hectic and stressful though!
