Are you taking anything for allergies? Can we?? I'm dying here...seriously! I've never had allergies, so either allergens are particularly bad this year or this pregnancy is really messing with me.

My midwife said both Claritin and Zyrtec were ok, as well as Benadryl. The first two are non drowsy... I've been taking Zyrtec and feel SO. MUCH. BETTER. Good luck!!

I took Zyrtec daily for years before GKU. I chose to stop because I didn't want to take anything unnecessary, but if my allergies start acting up this spring I most certainly will be taking something.
I know Claritin is on my dr approved list, and I believe Zyrtec is as well so that's what I would start with since it used to work so well for me.
If I have a cold, can I take those allergy meds to relieve some of this congestion? If I could breathe, I might be able to sleep at night...
I would recommend Benadryl for those purposes. It addresses both stuffy/runny noses from allergies and also makes you drowsy. They even have dye-free capsules now so you don't have to take the bright pink ones!! That's what I took a couple times when my cold was really bad to help be breathe and get to sleep.

Thank you! I just need to sleep. I'm pretty sure we have the benadryl capsules around here somewhere. Which reminds me, I really need to organize our medicine shelf.

It could be exacerbated by being pregnant, since most women are already congested during pregnancy. Hopefully you can get some relief.
