Please solve this debate between MH and I.

I usually just say chips, but if I had to specify that they're for salsa I would say tortilla chips. Although technically the tortilla is a corn one lol

Aren't tortilla chips the same thing as corn chips? Maybe it depends on flour used? I have no clue.

Yeah but Fritos actually say "corn chips" right under Fritos on the bag :-P

Fun fact: I didn't eat Fritos growing up because they did say corn chips on the bag and that meant eating vegetables, gross.

Thank you all for validating my side. ? MH insists on calling them corn chips. Then the last bag he bought actually says, "corn chips" and I wondered for a brief second if I was the crazy one. I should never have doubted myself.

To keep this going..isn't the difference flour? Corn chips would use corn flour? I would look it up but my phone only let's me google via ABC, not auto.

I think so. All corn chips are tortilla chips (well, minus Fritos??) but not all tortilla chips are corn chips. I think you are right to call it corn flour but wheat flour tortillas are just called "flour tortillas" usually so calling them both flour can be confusing. I think flour (meaning wheat flour) tortillas don't make great chips thus I think it is pretty rare to see flour tortilla chips.

In my recent findings, all tortilla chips are corn except for the natural/organic/speciality chips. I thought there were white flour tortilla chips, but that is just tortillas, not chips. Chips called white tortilla chips are just white corn chips.
