Where are everyone's kiddos sleeping? Any babies in their cribs yet? LO is in the rock and play next to me, but wondering when to transition? For r and p babies, are your LOs feet all scrunched up at the bottom? Doesn't seem like it's a good sleeping position!
We have an arms reach cosleeper, which is a side car off the bed, she has been there since we got home from the hospital. We don't have a crib, she will be in this until she outgrows it or we move in August, then we will transition her to a crib in her own room. She generally spends at least an hour as many as 3 in our bed at night
J is 6 weeks old. When should I be working on getting him on a more consistent schedule? Or do I not need to worry about that yet? He has some general tendencies, but they're pretty broad and can vary.
I try to do the EASY thing, but getting the activity in after eating is hard - he tends to pass out while eating, which is an hour-long process with nursing and then him taking a bottle. Am I setting myself up for a rough road?
I nurse DD to sleep for most of her naps and at bedtime. She will go to sleep for other people without nursing, but it's just easier for me to nurse her. I did the same with DS and he did fine when we weaned. He goes down easily on his own. We never had any issues (not saying people don't have problems, but not everyone does).

A sleeps in a rock and play at night. I put her butt right at the lowest point and her feet are kind of up. Does that make sense? For naps we are at my brother's house with my nephew, so she sleeps in a pack and play or the bouncy seat. Or in my grandma's arms.

J has been in his crib since coming home from hospital. He'll occasionally nap in his swing or the portable napper from his pack and play, but he's too long for it now.

Don't worry about a schedule. You can certainly start a bedtime routine, but a schedule will be hard. They are still learning night and day. Everything is still changing right now.
Okay. Just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something or screwing something up royally.

That's good to hear. He definitely goes to sleep with others, and isn't dependent on eating to fall asleep.

Yep! That makes sense. Do you swaddle? We have E in a sleep sack and it kinda makes him hard to bend, haha.

Yes, I swaddle her in an A+A swaddle blanket. I keep it fairly loose through the hips and legs and tight just around her arms. Makes her bend in just the right spot!
xxkimmy8xx, DD is in the rock n play at night still at 8 weeks, swaddled in a SwaddleMe. Her butt is at the lowest point of the rocker and her legs rest in the bottom. I will move her to the crib in a few weeks, when we kick DS2 out of the nursery and into big brother's room.

Crib here. He's been in it since he was about two weeks old. As convenient as it was to nurse him, I couldn't sleep with all his grunting and stirring. So he went right to the crib and we sold the bassinet.

V still sleeps with me. I get such good sleep that way that I am scared to move her. I plan to do so on Saturday though since she will be 8 weeks.
The crib scares me the most because her room is adjacent to DS'. I'm afraid her crying MOTN will wake DS, and that is the stuff nightmares are made of. I plan to keep her in the PNP until she regularly STTN and I don't have to worry about this.

V is on a loose schedule solely because I keep DS on a rigid one. Once I can get her to take a good nap by herself, I will work on scheduling things a bit more so that her and DS match up at least sometimes.
When he was little, I couldn't get DS to do EASY at all because he would never sleep unless he was fresh off the boob. I specifically remember crying to MH in frustration because everyone I knew had their babies on a schedule and I couldn't even get mine to sleep. Some babies are just different and need time to figure things out without trying to make them fit a schedule, if that makes sense?
She's in the crib now. I put her in a sleep sack and put her to bed around 9:30. For the last few days she's been sleeping until about 6. The doc mentioned to start paying attention between 2 & 4 months with what I do at bedtime. Easier to establish things now versus trying to break them of something later.

E naps in her swing and sleeps at night in a rnp. I plan to switch her to a bassinet soon to work on laying flat before her crib. Usually she is in bed with me around 5 in the morning till we get up for the day (between 7-8 usually).
DD is 9.5 weeks. We switched her from bassinet on the floor by our bed to crib in the next room at 8 weeks. She is sleeping longer and more soundly and so are we! We start bedtime at 7:30 (bath, feeding, story/song) and I put her down at 8 in a Halo sleep sack.

Well, after posting that yesterday, V has officially taken TWO naps by herself on a flat surface!!! I think my issue has been recognizing when she just wants to cat nap and when she wants the real thing.
chatterbox DS is super bad about waking up V during the day if she's somehow sleeping, but I'm afraid of the opposite at night. Does YD sleep through YS' crying?
Sorry, didn't see this. I haven't let him cry. He sleeps next to my bed and starts grunting before he wakes up and I get him then. During the day he'll sleep through almost any noise DD makes, but only if I'm wearing him.
Did anyone's sleep get messed up after the two month shots? DS got his shots on Tuesday and slept all day, literally. His sleep at night has been getting worse and worse all week. I'm seriously losing it from sleep deprivation!!!

Naps in the crib were not a success today. We'll try again tomorrow.
I tried this every day for several weeks and was close to a mental breakdown because it never worked. I gave up and it has been the best thing for me. I just do whatever works to get him a nap. We'll worry about a schedule later I guess.

Yes! K was sleeping 6-7 hour stretches, and we are back to 3 hour stretches now. Ugh, its been 10 days. Sux going backwards
Soooo, I am so anxious about the kids starting a new daycare later today and so used to D sleeping only 2.5 to 3-hour stretches that I immediately hopped out of bed upon hearing him stir. I'm sitting in his room realizing it's 4:30 am and this kid has been sleeping for 6 hours--his longest stretch ever! He's still asleep. There was no reason for me to get up but now I'm wondering if it's worth me trying to go back to bed until he wakes up for real.
