I went to Body Pump this morning and am probably more proud of myself than is warranted.
Now booking flights for the beach this summer - I hate paying for flights but I think 6 hours of driving is our max, and it's 8 hours before factoring in beach traffic on a Saturday on the East Coast...with a toddler. Anyone been to Folly Beach, SC? LizInFL I know you are familiar with Charleston
We went to the museum this morning and I got dropped off at the mall so I could do some errands.
I finally bought a pregnancy journal! And I'm feeling like I am maybe getting some more energy. So hopefully I can start documenting and this pregnancy can feel more real!
tallblonde I am very impressed with your body back workout. Nice work!
Thanks, i feel silly but last pregnancy I had spotting during the first tri, so I basically limited myself to walking and barre the whole pregnancy. Pretty sure it was all in my head, so it felt good to get over that fear.
tallblonde High five!! You should be proud !! Esp getting over your concerns after last time. I am still only walking/stretching because, I don't know why, I'm afraid of missing something up. It took us so long I'm afraid to overdo it.
Do most people's OB encourage moderate exercise (as opposed to mild)? Beyond walking and swimming, light weight training or running etc? I really want to do more if I can.
Comfy Saturday pants are back on! We had to go order trim (crown mounding) and paint earlier, plus a quick run to Target but now back in my glorious, soft pants with a comfy blanket.
Oh also ilooked into Folly Beach last summer too so I'll be following for any replies. We are in CT and trying to think of a babymoon location for late summer - I'm not sure I want to fly but would split up a long drive with a couple nights somewhere else.
So far I'm thinking Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket,Block Island - or some other kind of lake/beach destination - as long as there are pools , golf for hubby, and good restaurants for me.

Yes, love Folly Beach! Is that where y'all are staying? Finnaroo would be a good resource, too. Happy to provide recs for restaurants and things to do when it gets closer. We are actually headed up to C'ton later this month for a kid-free weekend (not that I'm counting down or anything...)
eta: I just realized this was N16 and not 13 so I removed the Finnaroo tag!
kleigh have y'all ever been to Maine? Highly recommend the Camden/Rockport area if not. My family has a place in Camden...gorgeous area on the coast. There are several lakes outside of town, some truly amazing restaurants (Camden/Rockland/Rockport has developed into quite a foodie scene) and Samoset Golf Club/resort is pretty fantastic (located right on the ocean, it's often called the Pebble Beach of the East...your H would probably love it, and the spa is great). Also lots of inns and B&Bs. Just an idea if you decide to stay up north for your getaway
Hi everybody! Sorry I've been MIA for the last couple weeks. I need to hit the main board and catch up.
We got back Saturday night from a week-long vacation and b/n all the laundry and housework and other stuff going on the last few days I feel like I'm still playing catch-up. Hopefully this week will settle down!
Today we went and ordered furniture for DS's new 'big boy' bedroom. We already purchased an antique bed a couple months back but needed a chest and nightstand. The rest of the day was spent on the couch watching the Masters; I think DH is taking DS to the park here in a bit to run off the remainder of his energy, and I'm going to suggest that they pick up a pizza while they're out!
Welcome back LizInFL. I hope you had a great vacation.
I never got dressed today. DS woke up with a poopy diaper and the worst diaper rash today. I decided to let him air out which means we have unofficially started potty training. I was going to wait until we move but he seems to be doing alright so we might try again tomorrow.

Thank you!
Good luck with PT! Remind me how old your DS is? Mine is not quite 2.5, I have decided we're going to start PT in earnest next weekend. He has shown interest and will go maybe 50% of the time when we set him on the potty, so we shall see. DH will be out of town so not sure if my resolve will weaken b/n now and then, haha.
kleigh my ob says whatever I was doing before is fine to continue doing without any modifications at this point. I think once further along you want to watch any situations where on your back for extended period and opt for a recline instead.
I went to a wedding in Block island a few years ago and it's a really neat spot. I have a friend that vacations there for a week every year. I would def go back but would have rented a house - we were in one of the cheaper hotels and the rooms were tiny. The wedding was at the big white hotel on the hill - pretty sure there aren't many, and it was lovely.
Another beach that we love is Wrightsville Beach in NC, my sis lives there and we love it. There is an island right near there, Bald Head, that I hear is perfect.
LizInFL yes! My uncle owns a rental house one house off the beach and is generously letting us have it for a week in August. We have never been there or to Charleston, so we are excited. I will def be up for recs this summer, mh's bday is while we are there, so I think we will go out for that at least.
B had a (thankfully) short-lived runny nose last night and kept grabbing tissues to wipe it; then he'd hold the same tissue up to MY nose in an attempt to wipe it for me (i'm not sick, so I guess he was just playing). Ew. I could literally feel the toddler germs infiltrating my nasal passages.
kleigh Have you been to Newport? In the same vein but easier to get to than the islands. My friend took a baby moon to kennebunkport, me last summer. She liked it. And from where you are, only 3.5 hours.
tgrimes1980 We have not been super consistent with rewards. Honestly he is a pleaser so I think just lavish praise works the best. We tried doing M&Ms for a bit but there was so much candy from Easter, etc. in the house that they kind of lost their appeal.
LizInFL My guy is about the same age as yours, D13. He did okay today, about 50% on the potty. We did stickers and M&Ms for rewards. He didn't really care for the stickers but loved the chocolate and the praise. We are going to take it slow but will try again tomorrow. Good luck next weekend!
buckyb oh that's right, I remember from your intro about your son being a D13 baby. My DS is also D13 (he was due in November but didn't arrive til the 4th). 50% on the first day sounds pretty good to me, hopefully tomorrow he'll do even better.

We spent our first night away from DS at Folly Beach over Valentines weekend, and go to Charleston quite frequently! Like once a month or so. Love it!
Also, I miss BodyPump so badly. We have no gyms near us with Les Mills classes.
I also lived in Newport, RI for a bit, if anyone has questions on that one.
We went strawberry picking this morning (after I finished throwing up). Then I took DS to his first swim class (and came home and promptly threw up). It was a good day overall but I will be calling my OB on Monday for some diclegis because this sucks.

Actually I'm embarassed to admit we haven't been to Newport! I don't know how I've never made it there. I did consider that as well, I think I always discount it because "it's so close we could do it in one or two nights" but then never do! Lol
Hey everybody!! I hope everyone has gotten to enjoy their soft pants today!!
We have had a decently relaxing day. Made a grocery run. I took a bath. My in laws (including younger SILs) are over right now. We had dinner and now we are playing the Kinect. I think we will start a movie soon.
We made these ahhhmazing pork chops for dinner with a maple syrup brine. I wish we had leftovers!!
LizInFL We went to Bar Harbor two summers ago and loved it!! We drove the coast from Boston through (of course I'm going to forget the all towns) Old Orchard Beach, York, Ogunquit, Kennebunkport etc and spent a night in Portland. I will definitely check out Rockport/Camden.
tallblonde Thank you, I'll be sure to ask my OB (but don't see her for another two weeks). I'm going to pick up (very light) weights again until then - I figure my purse/work travel bags are heavy enough that it'd be the same. Did Block Island have a lot of dining in a small area? I want to be able to walk out to dinner and back and not necessarily drive (though I'd bring a car to check out the island).
calindi Any ideas on a good hotel (central location, clean but not over the top expensive with a pool within walking distance to beach and restaurants)??
kleigh - you mean in Newport? That depends a lot on your budget and when you plan to go. And few are walking distance to the beach - downtown is actually the other side of a hill from the closest beach (which isn't the nicest area beach, IMO). If you want access to both downtown and beach, you want to stay around Bellevue Ave, but it's still going to be a walk (or trolley) to either beach or shops/restaurants.
I am not super knowledgable about hotels since I didn't need one - we lived downtown with plenty of space for guests. And the season can affect prices and crowds dramatically. But I love Newport in spring and fall best, though you don't get to actually go to the beach.

kleigh, super late, but RE: working out, you should look into Bikini Body Mommy. She has workout videos for pregnant ladies. She also has 90 day challenges and a 6 week challenge that you can do while pregnant (she was pregnant in the 6 week challenge). The videos are pretty short and not too difficult. She's slightly annoying, but I still like her workouts.
Umm hi is it May yet? Because I think I might get a break in May. Oh and 2nd tri I am ready for 2nd tri on so many levels.
Also I think I have some pregnancy rage going on. I mean I think I need to destress a bit in general, but I am currently going between crying because I am overwhelmed to wanting hulk smash things.
