So maybe this is an UO, but a facebook post just reminded me of something that irritates me to no end - when people call kids "littles." I'm not even sure why it bugs me so much, but why not just call them "kids" or call them by name? I just don't get it.
What's way worse for me is 'kidlets', my MIL is starting to do that and I just can't. I delete every message she sends me with that word in it.
We have a big summer party every year. We schedule the ice cream man to come during intermission of the guy playing music. We treat everyone, and it's really awesome seeing a group of adults lined up ordering two or three ice creams!

Lol! All I can think of when reading that is chicken cutlets!
LOLOLOLOL. This is such a pregnancy post. I just imagined this entire scene. Meanwhile, as I read this, I was thinking "she had time to put on a bra?" only to keep reading and see you missed it:(
As someone who has always lived in a city and hailed my fair share of ice cream trucks, rule #1. keep a dollar in your pocket from April - September while the trucks are running rule #2. when you hear the truck's music, don't even bother putting on shoes if they're further than 10 feet away from you. Just go outside and flag it down.
My only experience with ice cream trucks is from when I was little and spent my summers with my grandmother in Boston. Considering the fact that she was known to haul me out of the bathtub in a robe, I should have known better.
I did put some ones by the door for next time though. Lol
I read this first as "I put some near the door for next time" and thought you were talking about your bras. Then reread and realized it was money... Good idea either way though.

I have a Facebook friend that call her kids "turdlings" which I cannot stand.
Kevinmac, That is amazing-I want to come to your party!! Our church had a snow cone truck come last summer after church one day and provided snow cones for everyone out of the truck-it was awesome!
Last summer one of our neighbors requested the Kona Ice truck to come a few different times and everyone was waiting in the cul-de-sac when it arrived, adults and kids alike. It was fun and delicious.

Id say clothes, toys or even a gift card would be appropriate and appreciated for a 1 year olds birthday. DS was not interested in presents after opening the first one. We let him play with it and opened the rest later. From what I've witnessed this is typical or they enjoy unwrapping presents but don't really care what's inside and empty box is as exciting as an amazing 100$ toy.
