Insomnia struck again. I had been doing so well. So I am a sloth today thankfully DD wike up later so I got a little more time to stay in bed. Nothing planned except laundry.

@sarahwithanh Don't feel dumb for going home for ms. I went home early a couple times and called in sick once when I was pregnant with DD and teaching. It's a challenging job without puking and feeling terrible.
Happy Monday. Well, we started CIO on Thursday and while it was sad to hear E cry for 40 minutes the first night, he has now STTN the last two nights!!!! I'm so excited I could cry! I haven't had a full night's sleep in 10 months! Hopefully me shouting this from the rooftops doesn't jinx anything
@litera,that's such great news, yay for him (and for you too)! @sarahwithanh, hopefully you feel better, don't feel bad for going home sick, I wouldn't.
aggiebug, where will you be spending time in Boston? And what kind of places are you looking for, in terms of level of fanciness and $$? There are a lot of great places to eat here! @sarahwithanh, I'm so sorry you're feeling so rotten Don't feel bad at all about using that sick day; sounds like you really need it. tjanca22, congrats on all the sleep--that's awesome!!
You guys, I'm dying today. I feel so friggin' sick and it's one of those times where I almost wish I'd just throw up because then maybe I'd feel better. I feel bad complaining because I know a lot of you ladies have it much worse than me but holy hell is it hard to focus on work today.
I absolutely cannot forget my sea bands at home again tomorrow.
dashook I think we are staying in Harvard Park? Or something like that. My bff will be staying at the liberty hotel. We are going to a baseball game, will be watching bff run the marathon (would take tips for that too) and seeing the big sites.
I love little hole in the wall type places or local favorites. Obviously family friendly with DD along is most important and we aren't looking for super fancy. So reasonably priced.
And boo for feeling so miserable. I totally empathize. I am the same way. Not much more than a lump some days but I haven't really had ms except a few times.

Oh wow, sounds like you have a fun few days planned, especially with the marathon!
I don't know the Harvard Park area too well but it sounds like you'll be downtown a bunch. The Liberty Hotel is not too far from TD Garden (lots of sports bars and authentic Boston spots) and the North End (our Little Italy). By the Garden I recommend The Causeway (which is actually owned by a friend of ours and has great BBQ) or Boston Beer Works on Canal Street. In the North End, you'll have your pick of 100 adorable little eateries along Hanover Street, or check out the original Regina's Pizzeria on Thacher Street, and don't skip Mike's Pastry for dessert! Their cannolis are super-famous and the black and white cookies are to die for.
For the marathon you'll be further into the city. The finish line is right in Copley Square but I don't really recommend going over there, especially with your DD; it is complete chaos at best. I think some of the best marathon viewing is around Fenway Park (mile 22ish I want to say?). Are you going to the ballgame that morning? If so, you'll be right around there. Most bars and restaurants will be pretty crowded but still, there are some good ones. Again, Boston Beer Works right on Brookline Ave is awesome, and the Cask 'n Flagon and Game On across the street are two of the most famous Fenway bars.
Another good spot to watch is further out into Brookline/Brighton, on Beacon Street near Boston College (mile 19ish). It's a little less crowded out there but still really fun, and it puts you near some good food spots, like The Fireplace and Golden Temple in Washington Square, Brookline.
I could go on and on. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions!

oh my this is fantastic info!
We are going to the Saturday game
My BFF's running mate book dinner reservations for Monday and Sunday at Bin 29 and Joe's American Bar and Grill. But the rest I think is up to us so I am looking forward to some good eateries and OMG MIKES PASTRYS sounds amazing. Maybe I need to have that Fri so I can have it sat, sun, mon and take some to go just in case
We will have to bus into downtown or drive and find a parking spot is a BOB stroller going to be awful?

I will sort out a few more questions and PM ya.
To the bolded: yes, a thousand times yes.
To your parking question, honestly parking in the city sucks. But if you have a big stroller it might be worth it to get yourself into a garage, because lugging it on the T or a bus might be even suckier.
tjanca22 Yay for sleeping through the night! It's seriously life changing when that happens.
It seriously is life changing. I still woke up a couple of times last night since I've been doing it for so long, but hopefully in a week or two I'll sleep straight through as well. It will be nice actually getting some sleep in the months before we do this all again! I must admit, I won't wait until 10 months again, if we go the CIO method.

I never thought we could do CIO but I reached my wits' end when LO was about 6.5 months old and he has slept 11-12 hours overnight every night since then. It was the best decision I ever made. And honestly, once I realized that it doesn't actually mean just letting your baby cry and cry endlessly without mercy, I was sold. I'm so glad it has worked out for you too!

As a boston marathon grad, I would recommend trying to be before the last 4ish miles. It is so hard to see spectators as you are running. It was so much easier to see them the further out of downtown they were. Also, most people aren't in their best condition in the last few miles; spare the runner some dignity and see them earlier But really, any support at any point in the race is fantastic. Your friend is lucky to have you come watch!
I don't want to jinx it or brag but today was the first day in several weeks I haven't felt gross/queasy/exhausted. Maybe this is the light at the end of the tunnel? aggiebug and hangry I have had MOTN insomnia too, and it's the pits. The last 3 or 4 nights have been much better, though, so I'm hoping I'm past the worst of it for the time being. Hang in there!
@litera that's great news about your LO transitioning to a bed. We have ordered the furniture for DS's new room (keeping the nursery as-is) so we'll be switching him in the next month or so. He's slept in beds before, but always on vacation, so we shall see how things go.
tjanca22 glad you got a good night's sleep! Hope it continues
LizInFL, aggiebug, hangry, I'm with you on MOTN insomnia. I wake up several times a night and have a hard time settling back down. It is getting a bit better but still sucks. I hope your right Liz and the end is near! I just want to feel rested.
