We went on the hospital tour last night and found out they won't admit you until you are in active labor (5 cm) or if your water broke so now I'm stressed about laboring at home. I don't handle pain well and hope I don't murder DH during this time.
The tour made shit feel real and it kind of scared me!
Everyone pretty much covered it but with DD I was almost 4cm dialated for 3 weeks with no added pain. It'll be ok!
housecarder that's so cute! From the things you've said about him he seems like he has such a gentle sweet soul! My DD loves to draw on herself too. I'm so thankful for washable markers!
He's been asking for a baby for years. We've had a lot born on my side recently. It broke my heart during our IF struggles that I couldn't give him a younger sibling. He def has a rough and tumble side, but he already loves these girls so much.
It's adorable that he's so excited. He's probably going to be such a good helper with them!

Yes to this! I went in for a routine checkup and my doctor did an internal and was surprised to find I was 3-4cm dilated. I had no idea! She told me I was fine to go to work the next day (it was my last day and I was tying up loose ends) and I did.

He's already talking about how he is going to feed them bottles and change them. I'm sure there will be some change of heart when they arrive and are crying, but it's nice that he and DD are excited.
DD's dad has a younger daughter so she has been telling DS how babies cry all the time and "it's horrible". But DS isn't phased and just says "then I will just hold them and rock them".
TP to DH. He has had pee issues lately. Over a month. Finally he is asking his doctor for a referral to a urologist. But this meant I had to do shopping alone..

Yep proves that those first few cm of dilation don't mean much! My midwife wouldn't even check internally until labor or 41 weeks so I had no clue how far along I was until I was in real labor at the hospital.

Add me to this club. Walked around 3cm dilated for 3 weeks. Thought I would have DD early. She was pretty much on time at 39w4d and I ended up having an unmedicated L&D because I was fully dilated when I walked into the hospital. Everyone is different but breathing techniques and moving around a lot helped me.
I love movement and baby kicks but is it painful for anyone else too? Most of the time this one feels like she is cutting me open when she moves around. DD was an active baby in utero but it never felt painful that I remember. I guess I am carrying differently now?

I have felt this way this time too and DD was rather active as well. I get vag kicks and those hurt like hell! But I get other kicks that hurt too, it's strange!

Depending on where it's at it can be bad. Some of the cervix or rib ones get bad.
My sister had a few ribs dislocated from her daughter's kicks.

Yes. It's taken my breath away a couple times when he does something and causes a quick pain. Today I was trying to get a quick nap in while DD napped and it felt like he was trying to get out through my belly button.
Just know that it's nothing like any labor you've ever seen on tv. I laugh now when it's like oh no my water broke, sudden excruciating pain, rush to the hospital, cut to not much later holding a baby in recovery.

Lol! My dh was surprised to hear from the lady last night labor can take days!

Even when they induced me and broke my water I was still in labor with DD for almost 24 hours before my c section. We would have kept going if she hadn't been in distress. I will take my RCS with DS over that any day. I was so hungry and tired.

TP to Zulily and UPS. Don't send me an email saying my package has been shipped with a link to track it if the only thing the link is going to say is "Label created on 4/13"
