I wasn't totally ready but he's so big now that I felt bad. I think he needs the space.
Well, and this is why I think it's time to go ahead and move him. He's very much an active sleeper, and a big boy, so space is getting tight in the travel crib / bassinet he's in in our room.
We're going to be in this position soon too. 5 weeks old and 12lb and 24" already. Only problem is his crib is downstairs in our house and three rooms down from our stairwell. Definitely not ready to have him so far away yet.
DS had another rough night again, not staying asleep. Between 8:00-10:30, he woke up 6 times. I finally had DH take him in the living room to sleep in the swing for a while so I could get rest, and DS slept fine there. DH brought him to me at 2:30 to nurse, then I had to just keep him in bed with me the rest of the night with my hand on his belly/chest. Where did my good sleeper go?! I miss those 5-hour stretches.
Yeah! DS just slept 6 hours again, so I think I may have figured out why he wouldn't stay asleep the previous two night! Saturday and Sunday I used a "swaddle me" swaddle wrap with the velcro. But no matter how tight I made it, DS still managed to wriggle his arms up, and he had way too much room in the sack for his legs.
I switched back to wrapping him myself with a receiving blanket around his arms, and then swaddling with the A&A muslin wrap. Yayyyyyy!
Could you try putting a wedge in her crib? Or I know some people use a towel or something to create a slight incline.
Thought about that, but we gave her in the pack n play in our room. I worry we'd just fold it rather than tilt it.
DS doesn't like the PnP, but will sleep on the twin bed that is pushed against my bed. Maybe it's not the flat surface, but rather that it's quite hard?
LO slept almost 6 hours!!! I didn't, of course, DS1 was up at like 2 to pee and DH woke me up to ask if the baby was ok...you walk over and check!!! Hopefully this is the start of longer stretches and I can enjoy one myself soon!

LO just slept his longest stint in 2ish weeks. Only problem is it was after a day of hell with no naps, and it was at 7pm while I was changing his nappy! This kid fought every attempt to sleep including boob, rocking, dummy etc and then falls fast asleep while I change him!!!! I didn't even get his onesie back on!
He just woke to eat, just as I put my head down, after seeming like he was going to sleep for hours more.
Oh, these two month shots are going to suck. He did well at doctor and then napped. He had a nursing strike, which I never had with D. Screamed at boob like it was poisoned. He took a small bottle and nursed a bit with a shield after some work. He wanted a paci so I gave it to him and he stopped screaming and slept. I woke him to feed just now and he is eating fine on my pillow with his legs not touching anything. A low fever.
We have two month shots next week not looking forward to it. She cried and comfort nursed the whole day after her one month shots. It was miserable
Definitely part of the problem jags8. She wasn't swaddled tight enough either. Then her paci would fall out of her mouth and startle her back awake.
Will she go to bed without a paci? That's precisely why DS only gets a paci during the day when he is fussy. If it falls out of his mouth while sleeping, he notices and wakes up.
How is it that LO wakes up at 1:30 regardless of when he goes to sleep or eats last?! I could put him down at 10pm or 8pm but it's like he has an alarm clock set for 1:30.
1.30am seems to be a natural wake time for my LO too. Regardless of his last feed or sleep time. Odd!
Yeah... We bought a WubbaNub and it is not really helping. She still flares her arms around that she ends up knocking it out more often then it keeps it in.
I was so excited to buy a wubbanub with my daughter and she didn't take to it at all! I think with this one I might buy the ones at babies r us that will attach to any kind of paci and see if he will be more receptive.
I had no idea this was a thing! So excited! My feral-behaving, soon-to-be-homeless cat keeps chewing the tips of his pacis (and bottle nipples) to pieces (WHY?!?!) She destroyed his froggy wubbanub yesterday and I almost killed her. This would be a great solution. (Well, getting her to stop chewing things up would be ideal, but she's a terror and I'm doing a terrible job of keeping things away from her...)
I put S down in the crib temporarily so H and I could have the bedroom to ourselves. He is sleeping so nicely in there. I don't want to wake to move, but I am nervous about him being alone in there and i can't sleep.
Quoting myself because a thin exhaustion headache became a raging migraine at bedtime. Left LO with DH so I could sleep wo her grunts. Didn't work. Took motrin, bath, felt like I was going to physically be ill. First wake up, said give her pumped milk so I don't have to. She FLIPPED out about the bottle. Luckily we got 2oz in her before nursing so she slept a good stretch and I finally got my 3hrs in a row. Still have a faint headache now though
Tldr. My head hurts.
I have had a few night like that. They are the worst I am sorry. I hope your headache goes away completely and get some extra rest somehow.

Did he sleep like that for awhile?? My kid would be up in 10 mins max if not swaddled. I'm dreading when he learns to roll over. :/
I know this was just a fluke and not to expect this again, but DS just slept for over 8 hours!!!! So I got about 6.5. Hoping I can get in a few more before its time to get up for the day.
LO was in his witching hours as usual. Right when he usually calms down, DH gets him to sleep. He insists its because LO hates being swaddled and put him in his RNP very loosely swaddled in our room. I told him he would wake up in less than 2 hours and he acted like I was just being negative. Guess who's up with the baby an hour later? I'm pissed.
I am sorry. I hope thing get better. I would also be pissed. H turned off the white noise one day after I spent an hour trying but s down. He woke up immediately. I wanted to stab H.
I know I should be excited (and I am) but LO is sleeping way longer stretches than I remember my others doing at this age. (6.5 hours the past two nights) DS1 wasn't sttn until around a year, and once he did I got my period back. DD was like 10 months, and same. I was sort of banking on my past experience knowing my fertility is kept at bay for several months but if he sleeps too much I guess that could be different this time? DH asked about birth control and I was like "we have months to figure that out" now I'm freaking myself out and wondering if I should wake up and pump during the night. I should be sleeping right now...
