I couldn't find one, and my search function on tapatalk doesn't work.
I'm not totally new to baby wearing, but I have some questions about woven wraps. I have a toddler Tula for DS and I love it, he loves going up on my back. When he was small I wore him in a DIY wrap a few times at the beach and used a moby. The moby is way too hot for us, and won't work for the summer.
I was checking out some Tula woven wraps and I like the prints, but I'm open to suggestions. I will be out and about with this LO basically immediately so I am looking for something light weight and able to wear a newborn.
I've never done a ring sling, but I'm not afraid to try. A SSC seems like it will be too hot for the summer, so if rather a wrap for the squishy phase. I'm part of a bays earring group that meets once a month so I'll probably go to the next meeting to get a better idea.
So what is your favorite wrap? Bonus points for PIP of it!

I just bought my first wrap with the help of bunnyfungo who is very knowledgeable. Maybe she can chime in. I also have a liliebaby and solly wrap. So hopefully one of these work.
I'm going to my local baby wearing international meeting hopefully next week.

I loved the hell out of my ktan for K in the squishy phase. I'm getting the ktan active for this time around since it'll be hot. This is the bad boy I want.
TheTuna15 that's the one I was eyeing too! It's okay to wrap newborns as long as they are like 8lbs right? That seems to be the general consensus I'm reading
lovegrilledcheese thanks! I've never wrapped a newborn before. I started wearing DS when he had some good head control, probably around 5 months. I'm going to check out a baby wearing meeting too. Thanks!

Is the ktan similar to the Moby? Someone in real life told me there is one that's similar to the Moby but you don't have to wrap it yourself - is this it? Just wondering how easy it is to use.
melody330, Yep. The first way to wear it is the kangaroo and it's recommended for 8lbs up to 2-3 months. I kept wearing K in it on my hip until a month or two ago when it started to get snug around the bump.
rungirlrun, I got this one because there's no wrapping involved. You select a size that is comparable to your shirt size and I've literally never worried about K falling out or anything related to wrapping. The only piece you tie is the longer piece. You wrap it around the babies back and your back and tie it off for support. It took me like two tries after watching a YouTube video. But once you get it. It's easy as hell. There's also easy "breastfeeding" positions with it. If you want to carry, bf, and stay under cover. Here's what it looks like.

Stretchy wraps and ring slings and wovens are all great for newborns.
I have a linen ring sling to start this time. I had a Moby with DD but I just don't love stretchy wrapping so I'm sticking with my RS.
Then I have a mei tai I really love from Catbird Baby, a woven wrap from Didymos, and I just ordered a standard Tula. I like babywearing a lot.
I'm going to try and hit my local Babywearing international meeting soon because it's been a while and I want tips on perfecting my ring sling with a teeny weenie baby.

Oh, hai J16! I'm a woven wrap lover! Pavo is my favorite brand. I have good knowledge on Tekhni and Girasol of those brands interest you. I don't suggest back carries for new wrappers. But here's a pic of one of my favorite wraps: Pavo Etini Cobalt in a double hammock
I'll definitely answer any babywearing questions!!

I bought a ktan and happy to hear you loved yours! I can't wait to try it.

So my local Babywearing group is pretty quiet but there is a lady doing a free SSC seminar on Thursday that I might go to. DD hated being carried, but she had such bad milk intolerance I think that was the problem and I didn't try long. DS didn't mind it but I wasn't committed to wearing and just carried him a lot. With twins and two older ones I feel like I'm going to have to find a way to handle them all so wearing seems like the best option. Thinking about trying a moby early on, or maybe a K'tan. melody330 there is a Facebook group called Everyday Babywearing that has tons of members that answer questions and videos/pics of different wraps and carriers. I love seeing them in my news feed.

I really really want a woven this time. I will probably buy one at some point soon. I already have a Moby, 2 ring slings (one linen and one heavyweight embossed denim), and a Mei Tei. I love all of them but I feel like a woven will really round out my collection and be helpful for when S is small in the summer months.

Go for it sarcaztic10. I really want a second woven (I'm crazy pants) because mine is long, super bright, and cotton (Didymos Katy in a 6 or 7, I forget). I keep thinking a short, more nuetral one in a cool fabric would be great. I'm obsessing over some Tekhnis with repreve that are supposed to be great in heat. Buuuut I spent $170 yesterday and my H was like, "Ok but now that's enough baby carriers."
bunnyfungo I'll check out those brands you mentioned. Thank you!! I doubt I'll be doing any back carries, but I really think I'll love wrapping.
Do you have any you tube channels that are good for novice wrappers?
I absolutely love Wrap You in Love for video tutorials. I like that she captions them so you don't have to have the volume up. She's just very straight to the point. Other good tutorials would be Babywearing Faith or Wrapping Rachel. I'd suggest starting with a Front Wrap Cross Carry (FWCC). Other good newborn carries would be Front Cross Carry (FCC) or Kangaroo Carry.

Following. I have an a Ergo with the infant insert that I used with DS, but he was about 8 weeks old when I got it so I'm not sure how it would work with a fresh from the oven newborn.
Plus the infant insert is like a sleeping bag. Too hot for Aug/Sept!
I had a RS but only used it a few times with DD, and mostly used it for hip carrying once she was bigger. I purchased a Lillebaby when she was one, and I LOVE that thing! She likes it also. I'm not so sure about putting a NB squishy in it though... hmm. I know you can, but I just don't know.
I've been thinking to sell the RS and get a Boba wrap. Does anyone have experience with one of these? My best friend's sister had her NB in it at a birthday party, and it looked easy to use and that the baby was comfortable. She said that she would sell it to me for cheap when my baby comes because hers will be almost 8 months old then.
ETA: I never really felt like I was doing it right with the RS. I watched videos that came with it, but I just never felt like I got the hang of it. That is why I want to get rid of it.

TnT10 go for it. The Boba is almost identical to a Moby, Solly, and few others. You can find a used one for pretty cheap, especially if you're open to different brands. I never loved my moby but I did use it a lot anyway. Even at full price, I think it's worth having.
If you're looking to sell, I recommend the babywearing swap on facebook. I've had two great transactions there. A bit of a learning curve because it's very regulated and rules-heavy but it's for everyone's protection. There is also Babywearing on a Budget, another good group.

So I bought a moby and tried a tandem wrap today, practicing with stuffed animals. For never having wrapped I am pretty impressed with the end result, although it feels high, but they are big Easter bunnies.
