Hi ladies! I'm hoping you can help me out. I'm currently pregnant with a boy. We're struggling to come up with a name. DD is Calliope. DH and I got adventurous with her name. For a boy, we're stuck. He only two names we've come up with that we agree on is Oliver and Samuel. I prefer Oliver. He likes Samuel. What's everyone's opinion? Do you have any suggestions that would pair well with Calliope?
I guess I prefer Oliver for you because Samuel is kind of boring... but really I think you could probably come up with something else you both will love. Suggesting

I guess Oliver, though I'm a bit meh on both. I don't feel that either of them are equal to Calliope. Perhaps some medium ground between familiar and adventurous?
Arthur Alistair Anders Abram Benedict Edmund Eamonn Edwin Frederick Graham/Graeme Isaac Ivor Laurence Leander Louis Malcolm Milo Noel Oscar Peter Philip Raphael Remy Sebastian Seth Saul Theodore
I didn't vote for either. Oliver is a nice name but it was the most popular boys' name in the UK last year. Samuel just doesn't flow with Calliope, to me.
Have you thought about Greek boys' names? Just off the top of my head, Ajax goes well with Calliope, as does Matthias.

I chose Samuel. Neither really matches stylistically but there is no law that sibsets need to be matched sets and I'd rather choose a name I like that doesn't match then match with a name I don't love.
I love Nikolai dreadpiratebuttercup. I wish my super-German last name didn't clash with it so badly. I also love Ilia. I like Russian names.
I have a super German last name as well, but would consider it anyway if DH were on board. I think it sounds fine, but I may just *want* to think that.
