AW and sort of XP from 3T: Acupuncture

So excited!  I finally got my acupuncture appointment scheduled for next Thursday.  The phone consultation was GREAT and she comes to the house, which I am really excited about. Her specialty is fertility.  

Any recommendations for the first appointment from you veterans?  I've googled and read and reread.  The thread on 3T prompted me to finally make the call so I've heard great things.  I'm normally good at coming up with questions for regular doctor appointments but I really have no clue what to ask or how to prepare for this one... I think I'm too excited and looking forward to it to much.

I really didn't have any questions prepared at my first appointment. When we were going through my medical history, certain questions she asked prompted me to ask follow up questions (ex: how is [insert random thing here] related to energy/fertility/etc). I'm glad you're excited for your appointment - I hope you enjoy it!

Anything I should be prepared to answer or that will help her- ie: having my chart was great for the RE to use in our discussion...

I've never done accupuncture but I'm so excited for you. Glad you like the lady and that she comes to your house.

I provided my temp chart and we reviewed my medical history together. I didn't have specific questions. Enjoy it!!

I missed a week of temps after I got my horrible b/w results but am back on the bandwagon... and they seem to be a bit higher so I'll be sure to keep up with them so I can share.

I think you'll be OK just having a good idea of your sleep & bathroom habits, diet, exercise, energy level, and cycle info obviously.

aswedishbee thanks. I hate when they (any health provider, etc) ask questions about your habits and I have no idea. It annoys me that I haven't paid attention and might give them the wrong information. It's like when you diet and think "I don't eat a lot of junk food" and then you start tracking it and realize, "Holy crap! I eat a lot of junk food". I'm going to try to be more aware of some of the stuff you mentioned over the next week.

wirt2cute AW that I am, I will definitely keep you up to date. I think if I ever get a BFP I am going to write a book. LOL

For your appt I'd have any test result numbers handy, any supplements you're taking and your cycle day. I also like to wear loose clothing. They will need access to your feet, ankles, knees, hands, forearms and abdominal region. While my accu has heat lamps and blankets I prefer wearing clothes. Also turn off your phone! Nothing worse than hearing a text or call while being aslerp with a bunch of needles in you! GL!

OOHH!! Enjoy. I love acupuncture. It's so relaxing and has helped immensely with my stress level. I second what others have said. My acupuncturist had paperwork I needed to fill out with my whole medical history, pregnancy history, gyn history, etc. She also looked at my charts. Wear comfy clothes - short sleeve shirt that you can pull up or down (my acupuncturist has occasionally put a needle over my heart - when I was having palpitations from stress mostly I think) and pants you can easily pull above your knee. ENJOY IT!!!

I decided to do acupuncture this cycle for the fist time. I started about 3 weeks prior to the start of my cycle.This was our 3rd IVF cycle and we did 2 IUIs prior to that, RE did mention that this cycle my egg quality had improved quite a lot and this cycle we did have success.

I attribute a lot of my success to acupuncture. 2x/per week for the egg quality, then night before transfer and afternoon after transfer. I've continued 1x a week to help with pregnancy and morning sickness.

EmsMama15 I'll have everything at my fingertips and can change clothes if necessary... she does house calls! Super excited about that because I think it will be more relazing in my house than some strange room. She is licensed and I checked her reviews, fertility is her specialty. Counting down... 3 more days!
