All this talk of DC is making me so grateful for having a MIL wanting/begging to watch her grandbabies instead of "some strangers".
I am so anxious for my ultrasound! I'm irritated I have to wait so long!
My MIL is my neighbor. She's ready to retire and we just might ask her to retire at the end of this school year (she's a teacher) and pay her to watch the babies. She doesn't seem overly enthusiastic, but maybe if we pay her she'll be up for it.
One of my close friends recently had twins. They opted for the nanny route since it cost close to the same and has some added conveniences like not adding a stop to your commute, and having someone at your house who is keeping up with washing bottles and some of the babies laundry. I imagine some of those conveniences may be really nice with twins. Good luck ladies!
We have seriously been considering this, but going rates for nanny's around here is $25 an hour- which would come out to $1000 a week. We have friends planning on going that route in a few weeks since DC for two would be about $3500 a month for two. We are going to wait to see how the experience is for them, and if it is positive we will likely ask their nanny for a referral.
We had our first ultrasound this morning! And talk about a relief - my RE is 90% sure there is only ONE in there. Having triggered with 6-7 follicles I have to admit that I was a little paranoid! There was a little extra fluid that apparently could indicate the presence of a second one but it is unlikely, and we will verify for sure next week. So, YAY! There is one healthy baby in there for sure and not, like, five.
Also, she diagnosed me with mild OHSS, as my ovaries were freaking massive on the ultrasound and I guess that would explain all the crazy bloating. Anyone dealing with OHSS from IF treatment?
Thumbs up for a good first US! After this last IUI I had lots of fluid left on my ovaries and a few cysts. They never used the term OHSS, just said my ovaries weren't happy with me. They just told me to drink lots of water, Gatorade and take Tylenol if I was in pain. Did they give you any suggestions? Hope it goes away soon!
emilie I have mixed emotions lol...I kind of was routing for helping you name four babies. BUT its okay. HOORAY FOR ONE IN THERE AND HEALTHY!! I am sorry I don't remember how far along you are? So they just saw a fetal pole no HB yet?

YESS!!!! You Ready?!?! I am ready!! Can't wait for US pic.
I am pretty much going to live through your happiness. I am dying over here with 5 days to go. Did you have to go to work? Or you just at home waiting. I think waiting at home would be brutal. Maybe you could go get some breakfast like IHOP. lol

it is today!!! I'm crawling out of my damn skin with anticipation! AAAHHHHHH!!!! 10:30!!! two and a half hours!!
I actually went to work. I'm trying to be super productive (but I'm on here, so you see how well that's working out for me! :-P) because I know I will be highly unproductive for the rest of the day after I get back! I keep going back and forth between, "there'll be nothing, this was fun while it lasted" to "OMG THIS IS HAPPENING!!!!" ughhh.

My parents moved here to live close to us and it's a lifesaver. At the moment my mum comes round and plays with the baby for an hour most days, and I hide upstairs and read or try to nap. Once a week I take L to their house and leave her there for a bit longer every week. But since we told them about the new baby, Mum has already been talking about doing more, which is fabulous.

Haha....WineNChocolate , I was talking about Daycare (DC). I actually live in Connecticut.
Turns out there is a CTParent.com website and it has a list of Child Care Facilities. No ratings, reviews, or prices but it has names, addresses, descriptions, and links to websites. Wanted to share in case it was helpful!

Guys, I officially graduated from the RE today!!!! Both babies are measuring perfectly with HBs of 180. I may have cried when I hugged my nurse practitioner. She has been so amazing.
