DD is very similar to your LO mommabakes. We are working on counting to 20 and once in a while I've heard her get most of them correct. Once in a while we work on letter recognition (she has a leap frog alphabet toy that I will bring out) and I will draw a big letter on construction paper and talk about the letter and what words start with that letter while she colors the letter but she hasn't quite grasped that yet. We have some alphabet flashcards I will bring out at some point. As far as numbers go we have a few counting books that we read often so I'm hoping she will begin to recognize numbers just based on that and her fake cellphone (haha). I haven't attempted cutting or writing at all.

He can rote count to 15 reliably. He can objects at least to 5. He knows his colors but has trouble with red. He knows shapes and body parts. He colors nicely and can cut some. He doesn't know the alphabet. He can usually pick out his name. I really want him to play and work on social, motor and language skills right now. They touch on academics at DC so at home we focus on his interests.
DD usually sings most letters to the alphabet song and is close to counting to 20, but occasionally skips, so she says 1,2,4,8. She is really good with colors and advanced body parts (neck, ankles, back). Not so much pen control or following lines. We aren't really working on identifying letters much at home, but they do some at daycare.
jnetx thank you for your teacher perspective! I SAH with G, and she is too young for the preschools in our area, so unless I hold her back a year for K, she will get only 1 year of prek. I worry about her ending up behind because of that, and feel like a lot of other kids are ahead of her with letters, etc.
We read a ton, do 2 story times a week (for social benefits), colour a lot, and she has a good vocabulary.
She loves trying to do letters, but with DS, I struggle to make the time. She also prefers her left hand, which makes it harder for me to help her.
She does know all of her body parts, is potty trained, can put on/take off her clothes/shoes, etc.
We do lots of singing. She knows the alphabet song, ba ba black sheep, on top of spaghetti etc.
All uppercase letters she can recognize 90% of the time. Count to ten, but the teens get jumbled a bit. Colors and basic shapes are good. We've never tried to cut anything with scissors and she doesn't like to trace lines.
She's learning how to make people happy when they are sad and about emotions. We are working on applying it towards baby sister since she can still be an a-hole to her
