I'm looking for some cheap date ideas! DH is getting bored and grumpy from being home all the time but we don't have a lot of extra cash to spend on going out. What do you do?

My favorite stay in nights we hook up our original Nintendo and play old video games and drink beer or wine. We bet on who will win loser has to give a massage, play naked for the next round, so on until other things happen;)

That's awesome! We do pretty much nothing. I think our next time alone will be getting our taxes done in two weeks.
We have date night every single week. I am not kidding when I say it is the single most important thing that we do for our relationship. We too are broke.
Summer: Movies on the Beach (showed by the town) Pizza and Wine on the Beach Camping
Fall: Fall Foliage Drives Pumpkin Picking to find the most perfect pumpkin ever (harder than it seems) Beer Tasting Party Fire Pit
Winter: Wine Dinner (pick a wine and make a dinner) Beer Dinner (pick a special beer and make a dinner) Movie Night on the Big Screen (I use the university screening room) Cheap Restaurant Date (there is a pizza place that has a pizza and a pitcher for 18.00)
Spring: CSA Scouting Flower Hunting Running/Hiking Dogwood Festival
We do lots of date nights in also. We enjoy cooking so we will pick something yummy that would be too pricy at a restaurant, have a good bottle of wine, music and hang out. We also have a fire pit that we enjoy!
Cooking a nice dinner together at home after LO is asleep
Long drives just wandering around, discovering new places in town or driving in favorite places (LO sleeps in the car seat!)
We used to have a fire pit- that was fun on chilly nights (searching for a new one)
Wine and Cheese dinner
We take advantage of church events that offer free or donation-based babysitting. Our Youth are having a spaghetti fundraising dinner in a few weeks and we'll likely go to that.
It's not at night but we often go to brunch instead of dinner- it's cheaper and sometimes more relaxed and if you bring LO, they are often well-behaved so it's enjoyable.
We like to walk around the Botanical Gardens (free in our city). About one Saturday a month, we like to go wine tasting too. Most wineries around me offer 2-5 free tastes.

We go up the mountains and roast hot dogs or s'mores, go to an art gallery walk, find coupons for local recreation stuff (mini golf, bowling, etc.), go to church activities, local festivals or carnivals.
Usually I can google "free activities in [my city]" and find at least one thing I'm interested in.
But also, if you need to stay home, I've found tons of creative, cheap dates on Pinterest. Some of the lists are lame, but there is usually a few things that sound appealing.
