So I think I may have experienced my first (or at least first that I noticed / remembered) Braxton Hicks today. I got up to get some water a little while ago and my belly/uterus felt tight and was really hard when I poked it.
I only remember feeling the one and it lasted for maybe 30 seconds. I was thinking it was a bit early for this (21 weeks this upcoming Wednesday) but some Googling tells me they can start around 20 weeks.
Anyone else feeling any yet? Or any BTDT moms remember how early they felt them before?
Hmmm I may have had a few already, but I'm still not 100% sure I had them during my last pregnancy lol. I remember going to the dr last time and sitting up on the table and the midwife telling me I was having a contraction and needed to wait until it passed to continue. I had no freaking clue and was shocked that she had even said that!
Not any yet but I want to say last time they started around the start of 3rd tri.
I had a LOT towards the end. Like often enough (5 minutes apart) that my mom drive 6 hours just in case I was in labor. Nope, absolutely no progress and I ended up being induced.

I've been having them for a couple of weeks (I'm 21w3d). I got them A LOT with my first pregnancy (like they admitted me on several occasions to watch me and ended up giving me meds to make them stop a few times). Right now I'm just getting them sporadically (once or twice a day). I know it's because I'm dehydrated. I struggle to drink enough. So I try to drink more and relax a bit. When I ended up calling my midwife last pregnancy it was when I was getting them more often/patterned. Like they were happening every 5 mins or whatever. They were never painful for me. Just annoying. And never did any harm. I delivered DD at 40w3d.
I started getting them at 15 weeks. Happened with DS as well. I have them quiet often which stinks at times. What you explained is exactly what they fee like.

I've been getting them because I've been really active lately. The other day they were coming on strong because I had walked close to 6 miles and probably didn't drink enough. 20+ more weeks of this :/
Low water intake or lots of activity were my triggers in my last pregnancy too. Such a weird feeling but completely normal! It's even stranger feeling when you start to get them and baby tries to make big movements at the same time!

I'm sure this will be of absolutely zero help but if you're looking for anecdotes I had exactly zero BH contractions my first pregnancy. When I went into labor a week before my due date, I was convinced they were BH or that I just had to go poop. 14 hours of those "BH" contractions I saw my OB for a regularly scheduled appt and I was 2 cm dilated and almost 100% effaced.
Also, they were more frequent when I was dehydrated or had been pretty active.
Yep, these both caused BH for me in my previous pregnancies too. Mine were mostly in later 3rd tri but I think they are normal anytime in 2nd tri. Try to drink some water & put your feet up when they happen, if you can!

I could never feel BH even when they were happening. I was hooked up for a stress test with DS and was informed I was having small contractions. Couldn't feel them at all.
I got some pretty intense ones starting around 16ish weeks with DS. They persisted throughout my 1st pregnancy. Some of them got to be pretty uncomfortable, esp if I was standing when it happened. They're harmless but I did start counting down in between them once I was 36w.
Pretty sure I had some tonight, and also I think I'm having gas issues (isn't pregnancy fun?) So they were painful. But I got out of bed and took a bath, they seem to be done for now.
I still don't really know what braxton hicks/non-active labour contractions feel like and I've had a baby! I never noticed them last pregnancy. My mum always teases me because after my water broke last time they asked me if I'd been having contractions and I said no but that id been having back pain that was coming and going fairly regularly haha...
