I'm sorry about lefty! Don't beat yourself up though. DS is healthy and growing good and tall and you should be so proud of that. You are an amazing momma. Easier said than done I know though. Hugs.

Thanks! I remind myself some people work their butts off and successfully EBF multiples which is essentially a boob per kid so one strong producing side and one not so strong should be good enough lol
As DS starts sleeping some really long stretches, should I be concerned about my supply?? Iāve never had any oversupply and I feel like I make juuuuust enough for him.
This is the routine weāve started falling into just recently: At bedtime, Iām giving him 2 oz of bm in a bottle in addition to nursing both sides. I pump as soon as heās down and use that milk for the following nightās bedtime bottle. The nights heās sleeping 10-12 hours, obviously Iām waking pretty full. After he nurses in the morning, Iām still feeling a bit full at least on one side, so I have been pumping (both sides) after his morning feed - which I do not usually do. Is it best for my supply to keep doing that a.m. pump when Iām waking so full?? Or would that just be signaling that I need more morning milk?! I donāt need to wake up more full! I donāt necessarily need the stash, although it cannot hurt to have the extra. Also, he usually eats a good second breakfast before his morning nap. So I could just leave the morning milk āreservoirā for that time! I donāt knowā¦.. Iāve thought about maybe adding an additional pump before I go to bed, usually between 11-1, but his nights are still inconsistent so I donāt want to pump just to have him wake up 10 minutes later. Iāve already felt like my supply is just a bit too lagging in the evening, hence the 2 oz bedtime shooter
I would really like to BF for at least year, so I want to do whatever is best to help us reach that goal. I feel like that was very ramble-y, so my questions in that mess were:
1.) Do I need to be concerned with day-to-day supply when nighttime sleep gets longer? 2.) Should I pump in the a.m. to keep supply up? Or is that sending the wrong message? Also - 3.) Is there any concern with DS not getting to the hindmilk when Iām so full in the morning? Thatās only even entering my mind because heās a slow-grow dude! I assume my body would regulate this
tbirdlove 1) your body will adjust to your LO sleeping longer stretches at night. It will not affect your daytime supply. 2) you don't need to pump in the AM to keep your supply up. That sends the message that your body needs the milk, so it will keep making it. If you're looking to have a freezer stash, then keep doing it. Otherwise, you don't need it for your general nursing supply. 3) there's no way of knowing how much or how little hindmilk they get when they nurse. If he's having green, frothy poops then he's getting too much hindmilk FOREMILK. If he's not, then he's getting exactly what he needs. Also, I would pump anytime your DS gets a bottle and one a day, max, to build a freezer supply. You don't want to create a huge oversupply, which has its own problems.
Thank you @frenchtoast & babycaps! I figured that I was probably over thinking it Nature must have it all under control! Just thought I would ask since that had been on my mind the past few mornings.
I added that pump after bedtime because of the bottle - I've had to do that part in the past too.
And no poo issues The foremilk question just popped into that while I was over thinking everything else!! A
