I think smoking in your house or car with kids present should be a punishable offense. It's child abuse, purposely subjecting your kids to second-hand smoke. It's a well known fact that second-hand smoke causes cancer too. Why would you risk that?
Brought to you by the truck we just passed, with the mom on the passenger side smoking a cigarette with her window cracked just enough to flick her ashes, while a boy around 8 sat in the back.

I'm pretty sure it is illegal here in IL.
Have fun! H is going up to Baraboo for camping (a drinking trip with friends we usually take together) next week and I'm stuck at home with the kiddos.

I don't ever want to part with the RNP. He's a good sleeper because of it. I've read stories online about people keeping their babies in them until 15-18 months. Is this possible? We have a little while before his feet dangle off, but the thought of giving up that miracle sleep device is scary.

does yours rock automatically?
No. I didn't even know they made them like that when I ordered mine. But he loves the vibrate function. His bouncer and swing vibrate too. He associates it with sleep.

Nice. I just curious if that made difference. That's our LO sleeping too. Ours rocks. It has made a huge difference for our sleep.

This is how I feel about swaddling. We are screwed when she starts rolling!
I'm such a better mom after two glasses of wine. Nothing phases me, everything is happy and I give lots of hugs and kisses.
Me too!
Seriously. Same scenario, totally different responses.
Kids are fighting and whining. Two glasses of wine = "Oh, stop fighting my precious babies. Everyone come here and give me a hug!" Sober me = hulk smash
Toddler pooped in her pants. Two glasses of wine me = "Oh, well! Accidents happen!" ::whistles a happy tune while cleaning it up:; Sober me = cries inside while lamenting the fact that my life revolves around other people's feces

Yes. Maybe we're crazy but we're trying the bassinet tonight. We're hoping to transition to that and then crib. We have been getting 8-10 hour stretches in the rnp recently... Fingers crossed this goes smoothly!
gooselover2012 thanks! I like that one since it doesn't have to attach to the crib. It could still be useful as they age.
We have this and my older boys use it. I really like it!
I also like this soother. It does go on the crib but it's easy for the kid to turn it on when they get older, since there's just a button on the front. It has sound/music and blue light settings.
I have to put the screenshot since I can't copy the link for some reason.
I finally went running for the first time after giving birth. SO did morning nap. I am shocked he went down and he didn't even try to use the milk I left out. I feel so much better after getting out by myself!
Who sends out paper invitations? Just text details. It is not like her parties are elaborate Pinterest creations...
I like paper invites. And paper thank yous. I'm old fashioned like that. I just got texting on my phone for the first time a little over a year ago. I still like sending and receiving handwritten letters too. I'm such an old lady at heart.
FFSC: Yesterday I downloaded the Pokemon Go app. I'm not into Pokemon but it sounds like a fun thing to do!
I had never heard of this app until about an hour ago. A fb friend who lives in the St. Louis area shared her police departments post of how they just arrested people who were using that app to rob people.
I have a feeling DS is going to start rolling back to tummy soon He's been rolling onto his side lately, so it's only a matter of time. Then I won't be able to swaddle him anymore wahhhhhh

Now get off my lawn!! Lol
I like paper invites and thank yous too. In fact I just handed out birthday party invitations in DS1s Sunday school class today.
But I agree that's a silly reason to cancel a party- there *are* other ways. My sister usually forgets until the week of and then does a Facebook event invite for her kids' parties.
I like paper thank you. I would give the side eye to anything else.
I am shocked at how few thank yous I've received from recent weddings, showers. Sometimes I think I'm being old fashioned but it just seems so rude.
I just finally got a thank you from a wedding I attended a year ago.
Also, general thank yous that just have a picture and say "thank you!" are also rude IMO. Like when you don't write out what you're actually thanking them for, so rude. I side eye.
This is how DH, DS, and I spent like an hour this afternoon! It was fun! Great way to get me to go for a walk, because I love scavenger hunts, and Pokemon Go is basically a scavenger hunt. *poof*
