So pumping at work is going good but I feel like my supply is suffering. I have been getting about 12 oz a day pumping sometimes less - never more - which is what I send to daycare. However she has been drinking more than 12 oz during her time there so I have been chipping away at my freezer stash. I have been pumping for an additional 10 minutes after my flow stops to promote supply and just started taking fenugreek. Anyone have any other suggestions? My goal is 6 months for BF but of course I will switch over if I have to.

Eat oatmeal every day if you can (overnight oats are easy to make the night before so you can just grab and go). Also, More Milk Plus tincture helped me quite a bit when I struggled with my supply with DD2 (it's sold on Amazom and at some Whole Foods). It's a little expensive and tastes nasty though.

I have to recommend this dress as exceptionally nursing friendly. It's cute and under $30. I had three people compliment it today and the only places I went are are tj maxx and preschool pickup. Oh, I am no juniors size. I'm currently about a 14 and the XL is perfect.

How many times are your LOs feeding during a day? They asked at the doctor today but we feed on demand so I guessed 8-10 because I know that's what they want to hear (oops!) but I think it might be more for us. With her still untreated reflux Irene tends to snack so she'll feed for 5 minutes then take a break for 10-15 minutes then want to go back to nursing.

I'm in the same boat as you. Pretty much hourly during the day. Sometimes quick snacks, other times long meals. Usually 1-2 wake ups at night. I do time those sessions because I don't want to exacerbate the reflux by overeating. If it means more wake ups to fill him up, so be it.

Okay good to know we're not alone madamewaffles! This reflux stuff is for the birds. our pediatrician also recommended dream feeding her but I'm pretty sure she would just puke everywhere if I tried it. We've recently gotten into a pattern of waking around 3am and 5am to eat and up for the day at 7. I don't feel like a dream feed is necessary if she can make it to 3. Breastfed babies are supposed to wake up at night to eat at this age!

That is a really weird suggestion to dream feed, ellebelle!! What would that accomplish? I too am over the reflux business. Just when I think he might be starting to outgrow it, he spews everywhere.

I just say on demand and they don't ask for clarification.

ellebelle it seems way too early for dream feeding. I still need light to latch so E would wake up anyway I'm sure. I did it with my older son when I was starting to night wean him so he'd sleep longer. I have no good memory but somewhere around 8-9 months.
And my ped never asks how often I feed E. Maybe 8. Maybe 10. I don't even know. I basically feed him whenever he cries bc I don't know any other way to sooth a baby that doesn't involve boobs!

I think S feeds around 7-8 times a day for about 10 minutes. He occasionally snacks in there as well. Our pedi asked about it and seemed ok with my answer.

I honestly have no idea. He can go 3 hours, especially if we go out and he's stimulated, but at home, he's more likely to snack.
At one month the Dr (not our usual) asked how often he went between feedings and my answer was "between 45 minutes and two hours, occasionally longer." She told me that he was doing great and as long as I was comfortable to keep up. At two months out regular doctor just asked if he was still breastfeeding and still feeding on demand and said, "great."

I nurse on demand, and I feel like it's more than 8-10 times a day. Sometimes it's hour later, sometimes it's three. He doesn't have reflux but the boy loves the boob.

Lately E has been rejecting my right boob. Not every time but enough for me to notice and have to pump eventually. He will pop off and on while crying but won't really latch and eat (I see milk coming out so I know there is milk). I know he's hungry so I'll offer the left side and all is fine. Due to the popping off and on and poor latching on the right, my nipple is hurting. Anyone know what's going on?

rungirlrun how long has he been doing that? My first completely rejected one side for three days once. I was freaking out. Then she took it again like nothing had happened. People told me that sometimes ear pain or discomfort can make them not want a side or position. I never figured out why but she stopped and was fine after. I hope he is too.
Thanks cabbagecabbage, he's been doing it off and on for about 5 days. He took it no problem at bedtime today though. So I'm guessing it's just babies being weird. He has had a cold for a little while, but nothing seems to be bothering him that much. Makes me feel better that your daughter did this too and it wasn't anything concerning. Hopefully he will get over it soon!
Ok, so I got my IUD placed about a week ago and I have noticed that my supply has dropped. I used to never stop producing milk and I would pump in the morning and get 6+ ounces. Now I am barely getting 4 ounces when I pump and my breasts don't feel full ever.
I am just really shocked that this has happened and my OBs office are being ass holes about making an appt to get it removed. They are acting like they are going to refuse to remove it even with my supply dipping.
How many weeks PP are you, S? Is your supply just regulating? I noticed a dip around 10-11 weeks but has remained consistent since then.
S will be 10 weeks tomorrow. I had wondered if it was a normal dip but loosing that 2 ounces when pumping has me freaked out.
ETA: I should also add that I haven't changed anything and S is nursing pretty frequently from both breasts now instead of just one per feeding. He used to just take one per feeding and now the flow stops on one side and he is still hungry.
sarcaztic10 are you pumping to replace the morning feeding, or before or after you nurse?
6+ oz is an oversupply and Even without an IUD I wouldn't count on pumping that amount for much longer.
I know it's freaking you out, but just keep nursing on demand and doing what you're doing.
I am pumping to replace the morning feeding.
I also think my anxiety about going back to work is starting to get to me. I worry that I won't be able to pump enough to get him through the day at daycare. He will need to have 4 bottles (4 oz each) while I am away and I am watching my supply like a hawk because of my fear.

My almost 12 weeker has started to take both sides sometimes. I think it's a combo of him being bigger and hungrier and supply regulating. No IUD here.

I woke up and realized I'd nursed on the left side overnight twice. My right boob was a bowling ball. I decided today's the day to open up the breast pump (I'll start one shift a week next month). It was the first time I've pumped since the hospital and I got 3 ounces in 10 minutes. So now I have a trial run bottle DH can use this week hopefully. Thanks, super boob!
What bottles do your LOs take? We've tried Dr. Browns, Avent, Medela, and Tommee Tippee. I can't get her to take more than 10mL and that takes like 15 minutes and she never latches on. That's all from just her either chewing on the nipple or passively leaking into her mouth. I'm terrified for daycare next month.
