DS just rolled from back to belly for the first time!!! I'm excited for him to reach this milestone, but also bummed we won't be swaddling anymore. If you are following me on IG, I managed to capture it on video!
Decided to go pump. I was just going to pump a couple ounces from each side but I got distracted on FB. Ended up pumping 4 on one side a 3 on the right. Ol' righty can't ever keep up with lefty
As an fyi. Your pumping output is not the norm for most women and it can make women feel crappy for not producing the same. Eta: I know you didn't mean it.
Mine depends on the time of day, and how long it's been since I pumped last. Sometimes I get out 4 oz total, sometimes I can get out 9 oz total.

Man! I am jealous. I am lucky if I get 2 oz out of each side. I pumped 4.5 oz total on pumping both sides and I had a dance party.
buttercup I average about 3 oz per pump too. I was just doing inventory on my stash and I have ~74 oz saved. I'm not counting on my boobs keeping up once I go back to work. Pumping is the WORST. I hate it so much. Someone was telling me to drink mothers milk tea but it made me smell like fenugreek all the damn time. I figure every day this kid gets breastmilk is a day longer than I thought I would BF so I'm ok with it.
M has a fever of almost 103 now too. Super bummed I'm doing to have to cancel plans this weekend and next. I really just wish my boys were feeling better. On the bright side, M has decided to try to sleep it off so we only have 1 fussy kid at the moment.
gooselover2012 my output pattern is the same. Really high in the morning (that's when I can get out 9 oz sometimes). When I pump before bed? I might get 2-3 oz. I think it has to do with how much DS has been at the breast in the afternoon/evening.
Also, it's normal to have one breast have a greater output than the other, so I didn't find your comment off-putting. Just making a joke at your expense. ((Shrug))
This may be really Type A of me, but I just made a spreadsheet of my milk stash so that I can track my milk and how much S is eating when I am gone at work. I know my mom (who is kind enough to watch S during the school day) won't fill in when she used each bag, but it will at least show me how much I need to pump? Now that I typed out that explanation I feel like a doofus ha. 😁
buttercup I have no experience with any other car seat but the infant britax B-Safe, but I love the Britax. On Amazon Prime day I bought the Britax Boulevard because the infant seat has been so easy to use and feels really durable.
ETA: I didn't even think about this until now, but I hope that it fits in my small car....
I'm happy to see others on our board doing well (e.g., output, good mat leave policy, healthy eating, exercise, mental health, doing something social) just as much as I like reading about other babies' milestones, good sleeping, smiles, personalities, etc., even if my LO and I aren't there yet for some of those.
Any of those things could make someone feel bad but I take it as a really good opportunity to share and learn from others going through this at the same time, especially since I don't have many real life friends with babies. For example, it wasn't until the pumping thread did I even think about building a stash. Everyone's post was really helpful to me, especially Goose's.
gooselover2012 fwiw I had shitty supply and breastfeeding didn't work out for me, and I didn't think twice about your posts talking about output. And I have been very sensitive about the whole breastfeeding issue. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No drinking for me tonight. It's 8:00, I'm nursing DS, and then in going to bed too! I'm so tired from lack of sleep last night. And now I don't know how DS is going to sleep tonight since I can't swaddle him anymore. I put him in a sleep slack (arms out, obviously). FX he doesn't constantly startle himself awake. Momma needs some good quality shut-eye!
I had one glass of wine last night and I was hung over this morning 😳.
On a positive note, ds slept in his crib in his room for the first time last night! We used the Merlin's magic sleep suit and it worked great! He slept soundly from 7pm to 4:30am! It feels a little sad not having right there with us though, he's getting so big.

Big day here! Toddler spent a full day in underwear. He had a poop accident while at a party, but did great otherwise. I just put the baby down in her crib for the first time. Sort of nervous for the night!
Has anyone done the rolled-up-blanket on each side of baby thing? DS is just not relaxing and keeps thrashing around.
I did that for my toddler when we transitioned him from the rock n play. I rolled them up and put them under the sheet for naps. For some reason I got too nervous to do it over night when I wasn't watching him.

buttercup, I'm new to the group so I may be speaking out of line, especially since I haven't paid close attention to older posts. However, I think you may be out of line. I didn't see the posts as bragging or insensitive. I think it's important we all talk frankly. If not, all topics will be off limits. There are babies who don't sleep, eat or progress as fast as others. There are moms who are stressed, depressed, frustrated and anxious. There are frustrations if you breastfeed or formula feed, work or stay home, disposable diaper or cloth diaper...the list goes on. We all have stuff going on. It's good to hear the positives as well as the negatives.
jags8 I'm really interested in how your LO does cuz ours is a swaddle fiend as well. Hoping you're not reading this until the morning and you both got some sleep, lol.

Glad it worked for you. I love seeing pics of babies in the Merlin's . Always puts a big smile on my face. It's so dang cute and a bit funny
Omg he looks hilarious. I keep comparing him to the kid in the Christmas story movie all bundled in his winter gear. Or the stay put marshmallow man!

Ds is the same way even swaddled if he's on his back. He will kick his legs like crazy and wake himself up. I have been wanting to try the towel trick as we have been transitioning him from the rnp to crib but have been to nervous to try it. I know people say it works great though. Maybe try for one of his naps tomorrow?
Are you allowed to us the Merlin sleep suit when they are rolling? I mean their arms and legs are free in it...
