graciest719portuguesemama half of the kids i get in my 2s class from the todds class dont talk at all. Thats why i thought it was absurd our pedi suggested early intervention at 15m. (graciest719 VAs early intervention for speech begins at 15m, so if you did want to seek a free 2nd opinion before 24m, its available to you)
One mom at our school who used the states early intervention program told me that they found out the problem her son had (and is very common) was that he replaced the first letter of a word with the last letter/syllable. So like, cup was pup, duck and truck were both kuck. It sounds easy enough to translate and figure out what theyre saying but she said it just sounded like he was babbling all the time. And so many words end with the same sound, after they found out that was the problem they still werent sure what he was trying to say. (He now speaks just fine after 6 months of once a week intervention, 30m-36m) I recently noticed P says dog/gog, i didnt even catch it until FIL pointed it out. So ive been keeping this in the back of my mind when I listen to P babble.
I can not believe the 2t shirts that fit like dresses on P 2 weeks ago, now actually fit him like shirts! How is he growing so fast?! Still itty bitty in the waist, which reminds me, thank you portuguesemama! I never told you i got the diapers! We really appreciate it!!
So I'm gonna catch up but I just wanted to share before I forgot, my sister's father got remarried and now his wife is having a little girl...they are naming her DIVINA (dih-VEEN-ah). This is just striking me as a really strange name..anyone else?
Who here has an Amelia from llr? I'm really thinking about getting one but nervous to pull the trigger due to the price. Also not entirely sure what size I should get. Or if it's going to make me look ridiculous with my huge wide hips and not slim tummy...
TheTuna15 I'm sure you did great today and solo-parented the shit out of 2 little girls! Lol. I love the photos!!!
malvo I was glad to hear that your car will live to see another day! Hooray for a master attic!!! I see photos of people's final results of doing that and they always look so roomy and comfy!!
flat0422 Do you have an idea of what has been setting your anxiety off lately? Or could it possibly be that w/e medication you are taking for it just isn't enough/cutting it anymore and maybe you should consult the prescribing doctor? I have to do the same thing for my migraine medication..
So on Tuesday night, we found a baby-ish starling that had been uprooted from his home huddled up under our grill freaking out. After trying to find a nest and having no luck, we found out that a neighbor had been ripping out bushes and his nest was in those bushes. No idea if there were any more babies but all we found was him. SO has 100% ignored my statement that to re-release him, he needs to be handled ONLY WHEN NECESSARY. Caught them "cuddling" on the couch more than once, SO has also started teaching him tricks….guys, I think I own a bird now -_- Also…M is in love with the bird that SO has named Ralph. The bird has been named by SO, the guy who said "there's no way in hell we're keeping it" is now naming, feeding and cuddling said bird.
Also I have no clue what to do. I got a REALLY bad case of ringworm while pregnant with M, mostly b/c they thought it was eczema the first ooooohhhhhhh 5 or 6 months I had it! Finally was sent to a dermatologist who said it was a nasty case of ringworm, gave me meds and it was gone. Since then though I keep getting random small "flare ups" of the ringworm and have no clue why. There's nothing I've been around/touched that is causing it or would even be suspicious of causing it. Last time I was in a pet store (which is a reasonable place to get it) and THIS time it flared up when I got a sinus cold. I still have left over meds from the original time and I've just been using that. I don't want to have to make another dermatologist appt for it, especially when I'm still putting off going to see a foot specialist (still can't really bend my toe over a month later)
Other than all that fun, my house is currently dying of a sinus cold given to us by the neighbors. I had it, then M, and finally SO got it buuuuut I think he may have Re-gifted it back to me -.- dammit.
Thanks for the birthday wishes, ladies! Love you all!! Hoping I can be back tomorrow, in a training but might be able to get on throughout the day. Hope everyone is well!

sjep922 I am an Amelia whore. Love love love that dress! I have 6 now lol. They have 4 way stretch so they are super comfortable. I wear a large in Julia and Nicole so that's what I went with and they are perfect! I wear them and I'm rocking an awesome mom bod right now lol. It's very good at disguising things like a tummy. It has a lot more structure than the other dresses. And pockets!
I will say, Amelia fabrics are heavy. I have one that is almost like a brocade-it will probably be November until I can wear it.
xmina4x Do you have a wildlife sanctuary nearby? We have one kinda-ish close by. I follow them on Facebook and love watching the releases when the animals have been rehabilitated. I'm not sure I'd keep a normally wild bird long term. SO's cousin has tried with a variety of wild animals and it never ends well I'm glad he's being taken care of, but just thought a wild rehab might be best for Ralph.

ETA: Get yourself to the doctor!
There are only 2 that are a less than 2 hour drive but both don't take small birds, only ocean and marsh birds. I am currently waiting to hear back from one to see if they will be willing to take on the little guy
