I'm waffling about a double stroller. Our current one has a kickboard for DD, and we also have a single umbrella in addition. I'm just not sure I want to spend multiple hundreds of dollars on a double if we could kinda make do with what we have? Maybe I'm crazy and just need to suck it up.
There are also stroller connectors for umbrella strollers so you can make two singles into a double. I've heard mixed success with them, but it's worth a try if you're not using a double longer term.
So far all I've thought of is two more crib setups or two twin mattresses with bedding. We're unsure about how long the older kids will stay in their cribs. They'll be 17 months when the next two are born.
ETA way late: Oh yeah, and more cameras for our monitor. Or just a second monitor.
Also need another monitor. We will be getting a double stroller mainly because DD runs around like a crazy child when let loose in a store. We will make sure it comes with a infant carseat carrier. A friend is letting us use her mamaroo which she felt was a life saver. Other than that we really won't need much. We made sure to get all neutral items for DD so we will be reusing a lot.

- A new wrap (already purchased, and for sure a want not a need)
- I'm putting a convertible car seat on our registry because DS grew out of the infant seat at 6 months so our time with his old seat will be limited.
- Probably a second monitor, now that you mention it. We have a simple sound one as backup, but with a two story house I think I'll want video for both kids.
- We just bought a stroller... we went 21 months without one, so I got a single stroller and figure I'll push one kid and wear the other.
- Unless DS potty trains we will need another set of cloth diapers. He's not showing a lot of interest and I'm not terrible motivated at this point.
- New tubing and valves for my pump.
- Clothes if it's a girl... some clothes if it's a boy because seasons will be off for a few sizes, assuming this kid is the same size at the same ages.
- New binkies... DS is using bigger kid ones and I'm hoping he will be done with them by then anyway.
- Oh, and I haven't figured out what the furniture situation will look like. DS's dresser doubles as our changing table, but I haven't changed him on it in probably two months. We will need a dresser for baby, but maybe DS gets a new one and baby gets this one? Same deal for the crib/bed. DS will probably get a new twin and then the crib will be baby's.

A Milksnob! It was one of my favorite items with DD but it got worn down after so many washes. It's still functional, but just less pretty. If anybody hasn't seen them they are a stretchy car seat cover/nursing cover/stroller cover etc. works for all! And super cute.
I'll def get more Aden and anais Swaddles. DD isn't giving hers up any time soon.
More mittens and mitten outfits. I feel like the outfits are hard to find, but there are more specialized mittens online that supposedly won't fall off..we'll see.
Other than that just clothes, baby monitor (video of we can afford it, fingers crossed!) and a double stroller. Like that Graco one since our car seat is Graco click connect.
-crib and bedding -dresser -convertible carseat -clothes (for the off-season gaps) -some refreshing of the cloth diaper system (wipes, inserts, wetbags)
We won't need a dual stroller, probably, since G insists on walking everywhere. And we still have a couple of carriers. Thank goodness I saved almost all G's clothes! I'm really hopeful there won't be much that either won't fit or work seasonally. Still debating on another monitor, though.

- New car seat is a must, especially since they expire within a few years. The one we had for J wouldn't be okay for Sweat Pea (her seat would be about 4 years old - we traded it in anyway).
- Order your free pump through your insurance. (ETA: You should get a free one through the ACA. At least our insurance gives us one.)
- I'll sterilize my pump parts again and reuse them. I'll buy new tubing, but everything else is good to go!
- Milk storage bags. I spent the money on Medela ones before, but I think I may stick with the cheaper ones this time. They all leaked anyway... And the cheap ones stack better in the freezer.
- New clothing since we're going from girl to boy. We'll reuse any neutral clothing we have. And we have some folks that have offered hand-me-downs.
We plan to reuse all her crib sheets (they're neutral colors anyway).
Now that I think about it, all I'm buying is a new glider, a car seat, and some pump supplies. Obviously I'm forgetting stuff LOL
ETA: I left off the obvious stuff like diapers (we're not a cloth family), wipes, lotions, etc.

For those of you who still have very small kids (like up to a year or 15 months), will your list be different? Will the new baby use the older baby's toys or will you get new ones? I'm concerned that my older kids won't be done with their toys if we try to give them to the younger ones.

Also a question for STMs, do you expect to receive gifts from folks that will cover some of your needs listed above? I'm not saying another baby shower (that's a discussion for a WHOLE other thread), but for example, will your parents offer to buy you another crib?

J is older (she'll be basically 3.5 by the time Sweat Pea arrives), but I assume if you have a kid that's 12-15 months old now they'll be done with a lot of toys by the time #2 rolls around to using them. Like when #2 arrives, #1 will be about 2 years old and won't want to play with toys meant for a 12 month old, right? J was done with 12 month and younger toys by 12 months old. ETA: I'd rewrap those toys and gift them to #2 for Christmas when s/he is about 10 months old.
FWIW we donated/handed down a lot of J's younger toys (anything younger than 24 month appropriate), so we'll be relying on Christmas and random gifts (and we'll buy some, too) to replenish the younger toy supply.

I suppose a lot will change in the next six months. My kids try to steal the car seat toys from a baby at daycare who is a few months younger than them. I have no idea what 1.5-2 year old kids will be interested in.
Double stroller -- Joovy caboose More fleece sleep sacks -- I prefer the SwaddleMe kind over Halo for the early days Second monitor -- audio only New pump -- covered by insurance Nursery stuff -- crib sheets, mobile, soother, white noise, decor, dresser K'tan -- already purchased on prime day Clothing -- at the least a going home outfit for a boy, at most all new girl clothes Nursing tanks -- enough for a week
At some point we will buy DS a combination car seat for my car because baby will get his convertible, probably a little more than a year from now. We already have a combination seat for DH's car (thanks, prime day)

Yes, I would expect some gifts from our families and close friends. I plan to do registries, mostly for the swag bags and completion discounts, but also if people want to purchase something for us.
I also expect that I'll get some things for my birthday/Christmas. I'm okay with that.

I'm not in this scenario, but I would not buy more/duplicate toys. By the time LO2 is ready for toys, your oldest will have very different play needs -- blocks, little people, kitchen, slides, cars, trains, dolls, pretend play, creative play, etc. LO1 might be very curious about the baby toys, and that's okay. But developmentally, they'll be at different places for play. And it's okay if they share some things and play together. But that stage is, what, at least a year from now? Maybe more.
At the moment we need to buy a new monitor since our original one died, a new car seat, and I'll need to order a new pump through my insurance.
Does anyone have any recommendations for wraps/carriers? We didn't look into them for the first 2 but now we are thinking we'll need one to make going out easier.
puma1315 A ring sling is quick and easy for small babies. I haven't tried anything else for bigger babies since mine only last about 5-10 minutes in the ring sling before they want to crawl around now (11.5 months old).

puma1315 - Someone gave me a mei tai baby carrier and it's okay. J hated it so we didn't use it much, but my SIL swore by it. I also have a larger chest than she does and found it to be a bit constricting (my GG nursing boobs v. her B nursing boobs). I will say it's soft and easy to put on with some practice.

puma1315 I bought a ktan based on some recommendations from my friends on f14. I also used an ergo with DS -- I used it as recently as May. I don't think it's the best for brand new babies, but I love it when they're a little bigger.
-We need a new car seat since our old one expired. We used the last one for our last 3 kids
-making new cribs sheets because I want some fun new florals
- girl babywearing stuff. Having fun switching out my boy stash for fun girlie stuff. Frivolous but fun
- newborn cloth and swapping some boy OS cloth for girlie colors and prints. Haven't done newborn before and this is our last so switching to some fun girl colors.

I expect my parents and DHs parents may buy us something. Close friends maybe something small - like onesies or an outfit.
I created an amazon registry just to organize my brain and for the completion discount. If family asks, I'll point them there. It'll be full of needs though, rather than nice to haves.

New crib, mattress and crib sheets (we are keeping DD1 in her crib as long as possible and then converting the crib to a toddler bed- she will be 20/21 months when this baby comes)
Some type of dresser
Baby monitor that goes with the set we already use so they can sync
New clothes (obviously we will need less if it's another girl)
New nursing tank tops from target probably. They wear down quickly but the price is right.
A dock-a-tot
A Tula carrier (will use our Ktan in the beginning)
Maybe a double stroller but might just use single for DD and carry LO. We will see how much I feel like I need it.

So basically I also think it is pretty frivolous; however, DD slept in a rock n play the first 12-14 weeks of her life. Basically until she out grew it- it was our saving grace for night time sleep.
By 6 weeks old she was only waking 1x at like 4 am and sleeping so well...in the first 6 weeks we tried so hard to put her in her crib or any other safe sleep place and it was a nightmare so we resorted to the rock n play every night or our bed (which I wasn't totally comfortable with). Well that was all well and dandy until we wanted to officially move her to her crib. It was a terrible transition--we propped up the crib, created a nest, did white noise, paci, literally everything and it took a good month and half to get her to sleep more than 1-2 hours at a time.
So I'm planning on getting this in hopes that we can put it in the pack n play or between us in bed for the first few weeks--and use it to hopefully transition more smoothly to the crib when the time is right. It seems snugly like a rock n play without the incline, which is what I feel was the hardest thing to adjust DD to.
Is there any reason for me to buy new bottle nipples? Or can I just sterilize what I have? DS only took a bottle once a day and twice a day two days a week at DC, so our bottle were not heavily used.
