I finally got a white noise machine and L has been asleep for 2 hours already. Wish I would have gotten it sooner! It could also be coming on the end of the 6 week growth spurt too but either way I'm happy about it!

Last night was horrible. So bad that even E knew he needed to sleep a bunch today to make up for it. And currently he is screaming with no desire to eat. Oh and he's wide awake. Finally trying the sleep sack tonight, but I'm not feeling too confident. I'll miss the cuddles, but I'm so over this newborn stage.

Sleep sack lasted all of 15 minutes before he woke up. Ugh. Back to the swaddle. We've been using the woombie in the small/newborn size. I think E is too long so he's uncomfortable. For those of you that use it, what's the next size up? I'm confused bc it seems like the next option is big baby 14-19 pounds, but that seems big.

We use the woombie, it works really well for us. I have two newborn (up to 13 lbs) and two 14-19 which is the next size up. I use the newborns at night because she likes the super tightness of them. I use the bigger ones during the day or if the newborns are dirty. They are not as tight as she likes yet but do the job. She is 22 inches and about 11 lbs. the newborn does seem a bit short when her legs are stretched out, but it doesn't seem to bother or impact her sleep.
Have you tried any other swaddles? Might be worth a shot. Maybe woombie isn't what your kid likes best?
It's 11:45 and my child has taken exactly one 20 minute nap since 7:00. She will not go to sleep. I'm tired and frustrated and have spent the majority of the last half hour in tears. DH currently has her in the other room to give me a break, and of course she hasn't made a peep (and is probably passed out in his arms). Time to get myself together and go get her and try this bedtime thing all over again. This shit is hard.
B was up for less than 15 minutes to eat and as soon as I put him in his suit he passed out. I don't think I burped him well enough though and he is stirring. But the suit is putting him right back to sleep. So....that's good I guess?
I'm still really impressed with how fast he falls asleep once he's in it. I'll have to make sure he's nice and burped before I zip him back up next time. The real test will be now. I usually don't get more than 1.5 hour stretches at this point in the night.
I really want to try one of these magic sleep suits now that a couple of you are raving about them! melody330 I'll be interested to see how the rest of your night goes, I hope just as well as the first stretch!
We're not even down for the first stretch yet, still nursing to sleep at 11:30. This is later than usual so hopefully it means he'll wake up later in the night. We shall see! H gets the first feeding tonight so I'm not too worried either way.
So he wouldn't stop squirming and crying out in his sleep. I went up there, poop diaper. Great. Before I came up I woke DH up and told him to listen for his phone because I would need help in a few minutes. Well h passed out and never heard his phone. I've been up for almost two hours between ds1 waking up with a nightmare, H snoring and B's poopy diaper. I'm seething mad at my H and he doesn't understand why. I needed help, you didn't provide it dude. I'm mad.
Ugh. Anyway, I'm hoping to the sleep suit does its thing because I don't want to be up for the day at 1:00am

f sleeps basically right beside the AC in our room. I feel like we are going to have to get something when we transition him to the crib because it will be too quiet in there.
Well it seems I may have used up all my magic for today. I'm confident this will help with B's sleep, I need to get a better white noise machine. I bought a dohm from BRU and its shitty. The one from Amazon is a whole lot better

Big hugs prvc678. This is hard. I've had many nights where E is sent to my H. If he's fed, my H is just as capable of calming him and putting him to bed to give me a break. Hope you got some sleep.

Thanks Susan0utLoud. Just ordered a bigger woombie. We've been using one for over a month, and it's worked well. I just think he's getting too long so he's uncomfortable. He's about the same size as your daughter.
I've tried so many swaddles. I think the woombie is the best bc E likes it and it's easy for me to use, esp in the MOTN. I just don't like swaddles. Too much work. DS1 was never swaddled, and it was so much easier. But looks like E just likes to be higher maintenance in every way possible!

Hugs! This is hard, go easy on yourself. I hope she went to sleep finally.
Night #3 in the crib was much worse than 2... longest stretch was 2.5 hours. After I was up 3 times by 3 AM I gave up and she slept in my arms. Sigh.
No more sleep here. B kept popping in his diaper every hour and losing his ever loving mind about it! He hasn't pooped MOTN in weeks. Here's hoping we can align the stars and we get more sleep. The first stretch was great- but after 2am it was a literal shit show.

Sorry the rest of your night was tough, hopefully the only reason he didn't sleep well was because of all the pooping he was doing.
Sounds like a few of us had rough nights. Here's to hoping today is a good "reset" for everyone, and all our babies will sleep nice long stretches tonight. In the meantime, coffee all around. ☕️

Sorry @powersofbacon
Is your H receptive to talking to them about how they are treating you? If it has to do with ILs, h talks to his parents and I deal with mine for stuff like this.

We talked about it tonight, and he is now. I pointed out that by not saying anything, he is kind of silently condoning it. He wasn't saying anything because he didn't want people getting upset. He will be now.
I'm glad he understands. Because people are upset already....YOU! I hope his parents understand and cut the crap.
It's been over 3 hours for you, I'm hoping no news is good news!
5.5 hours and B just started stirring!! Of course, DS1 has been up every hour. He has been taking shitty naps at DC and it's starting to mess with his night time sleep. Thankfully H handles those.
I'm waiting to see if B goes back to sleep, but even if he doesn't this was the longest stretch ever!!!
